Top Ten Books I HAD To Buy…But Are Still Sitting On My Shelf Unread

toptentuesday

Each week, The Broke and Bookish host a Top Ten Tuesday based on a certain bookish topic. Other bloggers are able to participate and post their own top ten list based on the topic.

This week’s Top Ten Tuesday topic is Top Ten Books I HAD To Buy…But Are Still Sitting On My Shelf Unread.

Oh no. This post will be super, duper easy. I buy too many books and they are all just lying on my shelf, sadly unread.

So here’s my list:

1. Sever by Lauren DeStefano
I wanted to see how the series ended, and despite what almost everyone says, I personally love the cover of Sever, especially the green and gold colors.

2. Etiquette and Espionage by Gail Carriger
I love the concept of this book and the cover. When I saw the cover of Etiquette and Espionage, I just knew I had to get it.

3. City of Lost Souls by Cassandra Clare
This book cover is the prettiest book cover in the entire The Mortal Instruments series. City of Lost Souls is the first book I’ve ever bought written by Cassandra Clare.

4. Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare
I’ve heard so many good things about The Infernal Devices that I had to just see it for myself. I still have not started it yet.

5. Love Story by Jennifer Echols
I bought Love Story a long time ago after I finished reading Going Too Far and loved it. Sadly, this is the only Jennifer Echols book I’ve never read yet.

6. Article 5 by Kristen Simmons
I love the cover. I have heard many mixed things about Article 5, but the cover just captured my attention.

7. Immortal City by Scott Speer
The cover and concept of Immortal City grabbed at me when I first saw it ever since last June and I still have never read it yet.

8. Of Poseidon by Anna Banks
When I saw the breathtaking cover of Of Triton, I bought Of Poseidon asap.

9. Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
I’ve already watched the movie and The Lizzie Bennet Diaries, but still never read the actual book yet.

10. Days of Blood & Starlight by Laini Taylor
I bought Days of Blood & Starlight a while ago and still haven’t got to reading it yet.

What are your top TBR books to read this spring?

Great books! You already know how I feel about DoB&S and Clockwork Angel ;) (though if you read Clockwork Angel before City of Bones, CoB might underwhelm you a bit. Was the case for me. Clare’s writing just got so much better in the time between the books!)

I agree, the cover for Article 5 is amazing and the description really intrigued me, though I’ve also heard mixed things. Immortal city’s been on my TBR list for a while but I haven’t bought it yet.

I included Wither in my own list :) You can check it out here.

Ha, after I read City of Bones I bought all of Cassandra Clare’s books. And I read the first 3 books, but then… I don’t know what happened. I should probably pick TID up soon, with Clockwork Princess being released today and all :)

I agree with you I love the cover for Sever, I love the covers for that whole series. I really need to get caught up with that series, because I loved the first one.

Of Posedon was just an okay read for me, nothing really special. I hope you like it better then me :).

Clockwork Angel is really good and I think I prefer it to City of Bones.

Hope you get around to some of these soon!

You should read The Infernal Devices now that Clockwork Princess is out today :) *Squeals Inappropraitley* I’ve been waiting for it for over a year. I hope you like it. As for City of Lost Souls, It was my favorite of The Mortal Instruments, and Also my favorite Cover too. I hope you like Days of blood and Starlight!! It was so good, like better than the first good. Thank you Mariam! :D
And yess, I bought Clockwork Princess today. I HAVE to check it out sometime this week, but I have so many presentations and essays coming up. Hopefully I can start the series after spring break.
Ohh, if Days of Blood & Starlight is better than the first book, then I absolutely can’t wait to read it! :D

I’ve been hearing that a lot! I really have to see why Clockwork Angel is better than CoB.

Yes! The cover of Sever is gorgeous! I’m wondering why everyone doesn’t like it, everything on the cover just clicks.
And aww, hopefully I’ll enjoy Of Poseidon too!

In my opinion, Cassandra Clare’s TMI gets worse with each book, but I haven’t read City of Lost Souls yet, so I’m not completely sure. Maybe it gets better, who knows?
And yes Judith, we both should totally pick up TID and join in with the craze/hype! :D

Well, I guess it’s a good thing I read CoB first right? Like, I’m saving the best for last? :D?
And yeah, I’ve heard many mixed things about Article 5, but because of the cover, I want to give the book a chance.
And I’ll definitely check out your list Carmen! ;D

eep! I get my copy on Friday along with Clockwork Angel (since I had to have my own copy), Emblaze and Shadows in the silence. YAY!!! But, I had to hurt myself, by reading a review full of spoilers(on Clockwork Princess) and sobbing hysterically, even though there was a warning ther and it was in CAPS too!!!!!

I have that habit too sometimes. I don’t do it as much now. Maybe once every 20 books?
