Stacking the Shelves [29]

Stacking The Shelves, hosted by Tynga’s Reviews, is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks!

I fail at taking pictures this week.

Bought:
The 5th Wave (The Fifth Wave #1) by Rick Yancey
Arclight (Arclight #1) by Josin L. McQuein
Invisibility by David Levithan & Andrea Cremer

IMG_1034I bought all three books from Standbooks.
Invisibility is not pictured because I mailed it out for a trade using YA Book Exchange before I remembered that I had not taken a picture of it. Oh well.
I can’t wait to read The 5th Wave, I’ve heard so many amazing things about it.

Borrowed:
Dark Triumph (His Fair Assassin #2) by R.L. LaFevers
Unspoken (The Lynburn Legacy #1) by Sarah Rees Brennan

IMG_1036Before I read Dark Triumph, I have to read my copy of Grave Mercy first.
I’ve also already read Unspoken and never really liked it, but I’m planning to re-read it to see if I’ll like it better this time.

That’s all for this week! What books did you guys get?

Invisibility’s already available???? I envy youuuuuuu! I wanna read that so bad, I almost pre-ordered it from TBD. David Levithan is my favorite author or one of my faves. I heard The 5th Wave is so great so happy reading! As for Arclight, I read polarizing reviews so I hope you like it. :D

The bookstore I go to sometimes releases books early Dianne! :D
Yeah I loved David Levithan’s Every Day, but didn’t like Andrea Cremer’s Nightshade series. I wonder how Invisibility would turn out…
I heard that The 5th Wave was great too! :D
I read the first chapter of Arclight so far and it’s…unique. I’ll see how it goes.

You found The 5th Wave already??? Sweet. That is only my #1 most anticipated read this year, and I didn’t think it released until May 7th. Lucky you!

Looks like you got some great books this week. I hope you enjoy reading them all!! (Especially The 5th Wave.) ;)

Great haul! Everyone seems to love The 5th Wave and I’m curious to hear your opinion! I really need to get Dark Mercy >.< I wish I had moved already so I could order print books again…
I liked Unspoken a lot but I didn't fall for it like I did for Sarah Rees Brennan's Demon's Lexicon books. But sometimes I think a re-read can really help make up your mind. I'm reading a book for review right now and we're not really clicking, which sucks because it was one of my most anticipated releases of the year :( I've been wondering whether maybe I'm just not in the right mood but I don't know…

Anyhow, enjoy your shiny new books, Kelly :)

I can’t wait to read The 5th Wave too and see if I agree with the hype! I have REALLY high hopes for this book.
And aww, if I was you, I’ll be DYING if I can’t buy any new books. Good luck on your house/apartment search! (:
What book isn’t clicking for you? o:
And yeah, hopefully when I re-read Unspoken, I’ll be in the right mood for it. -crosses fingers-

Thanks! I'm looking at 2 tomorrow & another one on Wednesday.
The book that took a long time to click with me was Chantress by Amy Butler Greenfield. But the shift I was hoping for happened a little after half of it and then it was worth the wait :)

OHH I’m so ridiculously jealous of 5th Wave! I’m dying for that one!! I hope you enjoy Arclight more than I did, I was rather disappointed with it.

I meant to comment this yesterday and totally forgot (I swear, I have ADD)…but I found your blog through your twitter, which I found through twitter suggestions (thank you, twitter!). Not only am I glad I found you because of the GFC thing – I’m the crazy one from twitter yesterday, baha – but I absolutely LOVE your blog!! It’s so freaking adorable and clean, I could seriously stare at it for hours. I may or may not be stalking you from now on (that’s not creepy at aaaall….) ;D

I haven’t heard of The 5th Wave, but it looks great! Also the cover is pretty so there a bonus.

Re-reading a book you didn’t like, just to see if you will like it now?? Huh. I guess that though had never crossed my mind. Although, as I think about it, sometimes you’re just not in the right mood for a certain book, or worse, you’ve read the same type of book over and over again – all of which can affect how you like and rate a certain book. Interesting! I can’t wait to hear about how you like the book this time around. :)
