Top Ten Favorite Book Covers Of Books I’ve Read

toptentuesday

Each week, The Broke and Bookish host a Top Ten Tuesday based on a certain bookish topic. Other bloggers are able to participate and post their own top ten list based on the topic.

This week’s Top Ten Tuesday topic is Top Ten Favorite Book Covers Of Books I’ve Read.

This list will be easy because I mostly read books with gorgeous covers. :D

So here’s my list in no particular order:

dareyouto starlight paper

1. Dare You To by Katie McGarry
This cover! I love everything about it: Beth’s dark clothes, kissing in the rain, and the font treatment. -drools-

2. Days of Blood & Starlight by Laini Taylor
This cover is just…breathtaking. I love the shade of red, the makeup, and the font treatment.

3. Paper Valentine by Brenna Yovanoff
My friends, including I, went absolutely crazy over this cover. I love the pattern on the cover flaps, the pattern on the dress, and that lovely shade of blue.

scarlet mad taken

4. Scarlet by Marissa Meyer
The cover of Scarlet is so simple, yet completely gorgeous at the same time! (Even my mom agrees. :P) I love the idea of showing Scarlet’s red cloak and her hair. Scarlet is definitely the best fairytale retelling cover, ever.

5. The Madman’s Daughter by Megan Shepherd
The cover of The Madman’s Daughter gives you this spooky feeling, yet it is also pretty, all at once.

6. Taken by Erin Bowman
Did you ever think that orange, yellow, and blue would ever look good together? I didn’t either, until now. I also love the tree on top and the girl walking away from the guy.

spellcaster everneath shadowlands

7. Spellcaster by Claudia Gray
I love the white border, the flame, the girl’s expression, the dark colors, everything.

8. Everneath by Brodi Ashton
That dress! Gimme.

9. Shadowlands by Kate Brian
I love the font (what font is that?), the birds, and the girl’s protective pose. The back cover is even better.

altered10. Altered by Jennifer Rush
I love the yellow spine of Altered. That guy’s back is also hot and I love the tree. ;D The horizontal font was also a neat idea.

I toyed with whether or not to use Everneath or Everbound and ended up going with the latter. But I love both! Altered is a really cool cover and YES! Dare You To! Such a steamy cover of awesomeness!!

I was deciding between Everneath or Everbound too, but ended up with Everneath because of the girl’s pose.
Ahh, Dare You To! <3 My jaw dropped when I first saw it and I'm totally in love with it.

I love all The Daughter of Smoke and Bone covers – Days of Blood and Starlight is especially gorgeous. Also, Paper Valentine? Never heard of it but that is a lovely cover – pretty and feminine, but sad and a touch haunting.
    Great picks!

Wait until you have Paper Valentine in your hands – open up to the front flaps and you’ll gasp. Then take off the dust cover and look at the cover, it’s gorgeous. ;D

I recently read Freak of Nature by Julia Crane. The reason it caught my eye was its cover, and the book was really good too!

I saw another one of her books on the shelves – I forgot it’s name right now – and it was completely gorgeous! I wanted to buy it just because of the cover alone.

Great list! I completly agree with your thoughts of 4,5,6. Especially 5, just finished that book and I feel like the cover really symbolizes the tone of the book. It’s just so creepy.

When I first saw the Scarlet cover, I was like what is that?, then enlarged the picture. Imagine my surprise when I saw the cover. It is total genius. :D
And the colors of Taken! <3

I *almost* included Everneath and Days of Blood and Starlight in my picks! They are both gorgeous :) Paper Valentine is so pretty! I’ve been sorely tempted to buy the hardcover despite the price because the UK paperback is so damn ugly. I had totally forgotten about Shadowlands! Still want to read that one.
As for Dare You To, if I didn’t know what it is about I would have stayed away from the cover ^^’ Somehow I don’t like the stocky figure of that guy :P I’ll start my ARC this week though and I’m looking forward to it!
Thanks for sharing your thoughts, Kelly! You can check out my choices here.

Trust me Carmen, the cover of Paper Valentine alone is worth all the money. Just wait until you see the cover flaps and take the dust cover off. You’ll be shocked by the gorgeousness. ;D
I totally agree with you about the guy on the cover of Dare You To. He’s the worse thing about the cover. He’s too…muscley I guess? (If that even makes sense. :P)

Days of Blood and Starlight is SO PRETTY! While I love the UK cover of Daughter of Smoke and Bone more than the US one, this one made me decide to buy the US covers anyway. Seriously, I haven’t read it yet, but maybe I should just buy it so it can make my shelves look pretty? I was also a bit disappointed that I didn’t read Madman’s just yet, because I so wanted to include it on my list! Love the creepy vibe, but the typography as well.

You should definitely read Daughter of Smoke & Bone and Days of Blood & Starlight asap. Laini Taylor’s writing is so unique and you can just pat the covers all day. I know I do. ;D
The Madman’s Daughter’s cover did it’s job: setting a creepy feeling for the book. You should try it sometime soon Judith!
