Monthly To Read List: June 2013

My last Monthly To Read List turned out to be a flop. I didn’t read the books that I expected to. Different things always popped up, preventing me to stick to my Monthly To Read list, like NetGalley accepting me to read a book that I thought I would not be accepted to read.

This month, I will try my best to stick to my list!

Credits go to Nancy @ Tumbling Books for this Monthly To Read List idea.

Here are the list of books I plan to read in May in no particular order:

lostyou throne immortal shadowandbone pose vamp forever minds falling grave prodigy unravelme school

1. How I Lost You by Janet Gurtler
2. Throne of Glass by Sarah Maas
3. Immortal City by Scott Speer
4. Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo
5. Of Posidon by Anna Banks
6. Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead
7. The Truth About Forever by Sarah Dessen
8. The Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken
9. Falling Kingdoms by Morgan Rhodes
10. Grave Mercy by R.L. LaFevers
11. Prodigy by Marie Lu
12. Unravel Me by Tahereh Mafi
13. School Spirits by Rachel Hawkins

Yes, some books are the same as last month’s, but because I didn’t get to it last month, I’m going to try again this month.

I want to do this monthly to-read list too but I never follow my reading schedule so I don’t want something damning to stare at me that I didn’t accomplish my goal. Haha! Good luck, Kelly! Of Poseidon’s really good and enjoyable for me. :)

Yeah, I never followed last month’s to-read list so I’m a bit afraid of what will happen this month. Good luck to me! :x
And yay, I’m glad to hear that Of Poseidon is really good! :D

You have some awesome books on this list! I think that Of Poseidon, Grave Mercy, Unravel Me and Throne of Glass all got A ratings from me! I’m also a big Janet Gurtler list. Looks like you’re going to have a good month for reading!

Yay, glad to hear that all four books are good! :D
Janet Gurtler’s books are an iffy for me, but I love the fact that she writes about hard topics.

I’m also hoping to read Vampire Academy this month. Throne of Glass is brilliant and I can’t wait until the release of Crown of Midnight. Happy reading! :)

I did awful in May too. I only read 5 books out of the 10 that I told myself I would read, and out of those 5 that I read only 3 were from the list. I totally failed.

From your list, I really want to read Throne of Glass and Shadow and Bone (that’s the 1st one right?), because I keep hearing amazing things about both of those.

I loved Of Poseidon and I liked The Darkest Minds, though not everyone was into that one.

I hope you do much better this month! :D

Ahhh, it looks like we both epic failed last month Nancy!
Yes, Shadow and Bone is the first one in the series. I can’t wait to get Siege and Storm! :D
Really? But The Darkest Minds looks sooo good! Hopefully I’ll like, -crosses fingers-.
And I hope you do a lot better this month too! ;D

Unravel Me & Shadow and Bone are both incredible, I can’t wait for your reviews of them! Grave Mercy is also amazing. I’ve yet to read Falling Kingdoms despite owning it, and I strongly disliked Throne Of Glass (the heroine is extremely annoying). Nice TBR list! You’re in for a lovely month of reading.

I just met Tahereh Mafi today and she was so funny! People were torturing her with Warner and Adam questions, LOL. :P
Aww, you strongly disliked Throne of Glass because the heroine is annoying? -glares at the cover of the book- Hopefully she won’t make me want to throw the book across the room.

Sometimes the TBRs can be so hard to stick to. You just don’t want to read any of the books on it, so you go off and read other books.
I can’t wait to read School Spirits, I hope to get my copy this week.
I really enjoyed Grave Mercy, It was a great fantasy. Although it was a little slow in places and not many fights for it being a assassin book. But I still enjoyed the plot.
    Happy June Reading :D

And ohh, I can’t wait to see what you think of School Spirits Kimberly! We can compare our thoughts! ;D
And yay! Glad to hear that you enjoyed reading Grave Mercy, although I am a little disappointed that there isn’t much fights in it. ):

Oh, I hope you enjoy Throne of Glass! I definitely did enjoy it, but I find Celaena and her contradictory nature to be rather irritating at times (she’ll say she’s so badass and complain about how her wet socks hurt her feet pages later, etc, etc). Still, I do hope you like it! Shadow and Bone is excellent as well, and I’ve heard great things about The Darkest Minds.

Aww man, another person also warned me about Celaena and how annoying she was. I hope she doesn’t ruin the book for me. ):

Yes, NetGalley ruins everything I had planned to read last month! That’s why I’m staying away from it this month, unless a certain historical romance is available on it… ;D

Ohh lots of good ones! I’m DYING to read School Spirits and Falling Kingdoms, and I really want to read Prodigy, Darkest Minds, and Immortal City. Unravel Me and Throne of Glass were amazing! Especially UM, it knocked my socks off! TEAM WARNER FTW. :D
I hated Vamp Academy and I couldn’t even finish Grave Mercy or Of Poseidon. Hopefully you like them much better than I did!
