Top Ten Most Memorable Secondary Characters

toptentuesday

Each week, The Broke and Bookish host a Top Ten Tuesday based on a certain bookish topic. Other bloggers are able to participate and post their own top ten list based on the topic.

This week’s Top Ten Tuesday topic is a Top Ten Most Memorable Secondary Characters. This list was really hard to compile because I barely pay attention to secondary characters.

So here’s my list in no particular order:

cinder mylifenxtdoor burned

1. Adri from Cinder by Marissa Meyer
Adri is definitely a memorable second character. Don’t take this the wrong way, but I felt so bad for her and her situation, despite the awful way she treats Cinder. In a way, she’s justified on treating Cinder badly, but again, not that badly.

2. Tim from My Life Next Door by Huntley Fitzpatrick
Tim reminded me of my ex-best friend, how close we were and how far apart we are now.

3. Jackie from Burned by Ellen Hopkins
The situation Jackie faces definitely made her a memorable character. You can never forget a girl like her.

4. Kat from Alice in Zombieland by Gena Showalter
Alice is so lucky to have Kat as a best friend. Kat’s hilarious, isn’t afraid to say what she wants, and most of all, is sassy. I want a Kat in real life!

5. Rennie from Burn for Burn by Jenny Han & Siobhan Vivian
Rennie isn’t memorable because she’s an awesome character; she’s memorable because she’s the complete opposite of awesome. Rennie definitely wins the award for most awful “best friend” ever, hands down, especially after what she did to Lillia at the party. Like, ugh. I hope she gets her comeuppance in Fire with Fire.

6. Lila from Pushing the Limits by Katie McGarry
Lila is memorable for the simple fact alone that she stuck to Echo when Echo’s “friends” started ditching her because of her dying popularity. Go Lila!

hexhall7. Elodie from Hex Hall by Rachel Hawkins
I don’t think I need to explain this one. Yes, Elodie was the classic mean girl, but throughout the series, we get to see a deeper, vulnerable side of her.

And now, I want to know, what are your top ten most memorable secondary characters?

I was trying to decide between Adri or Iko, but Adri won because Iko was on another list of mine. :P

    Great list Kelly!
Tim is a really great choice!! I didn’t even begin to think of him, but he really was a great character to read!
Elodie!! I can’t believe I forget about her. She was such a great character and I loved how she was more than she seemed. And how she just kept getting more and more depth as the series went on.

Yeah, Tim was an awesome character to read about…when he wasn’t being a jerk. :P
I just love Elodie! Who would have thought that we would grow to love her after reading the first book? :D

Adri is a good choice. I completely forgot about Cinder and Scarlett when I was making my list.

And Kat was one of the few redeeming features of Alice in Zombieland for me, I didn’t really like the rest of the book.

I JUST finished My Life Next Door last night and totally agree about Tim. At first, I thought I’d hate him, but by the end, he was a real friend. Is he perfect? Not by a long shot. Would I let him babysit? No, I would not. Did I like him in this book? YUP.

I haven’t read a lot of those books! I definitely need to read more. I don’t remember Hex Hall enough to even remember the love interests, but I did love the series at the time. Great list!
