Teen Thrill Book Signing

booksigning

Yesterday night, I went to the Teen Thrill Book Signing held at Books of Wonder to see ALLY CARTER. (Yes, her name deserves to be in all caps. And if you have to ask what books she wrote, read her books now!) It’s funny though because she looks way different than the picture in her books (probably because she’s older than that picture now).

Amy Christine Parker (author of Gated), Elizabeth Kiem (Dancer, Daughter, Traitor, Spy), and Kass Morgan (author of The 100) was also there.

This is the first book signing I ever attended where the authors all read an excerpt from their book. Ally Carter read about Zach and repeated the “he smelled like soap and bacon” parts, telling us that’s why she’s still single – she can’t find a guy that smells like soap and bacon. (Guys that smell like soap to bacon, go to her now! You won’t regret it. ;D) Elizabeth Kiem read from page 69 of her book because she thinks that’s how people choose their books – by reading page 69 first.

Here’s the scoop: Kass Morgan is in love with Australians. She’s so happy that the CW show of The 100 has tons of hot Australians as the cast. She’s planning on writing lots of make-out scenes in her next book, so that way, we can see tons of hot Australians making out. ;D

Kass Morgan is hilarious by the way.

Ally Carter got her Gallagher Girls series idea from the show Alias. While watching Alias, she mistakenly thought that one of the characters went to a spy school, and when she found out that that character didn’t indeed go to a spy school, Ally Carter started wondering what you do in spy schools. Do they slowly poison you when you eat school lunches? That’s how the idea started.

When Ally Carter was asked what ever happened to Josh, she gave us a great explanation: Josh was the great experiment and it’s about priorities (which is why she is still single she jokingly says. HOW CAN ANY GUY NOT GO FOR HER? SHE’S AWESOME). Ally Carter adds that in real life, it is so rare that your first crush will always last and be with you. She wants to make it realistic.

Amy Christine Parker got her idea for Gated when she saw a show around doomsday that talked about luscious underground shelters. She told us that people paid one million dollars to get an underground apartment and could only choose four people to take along with them. Amy Christine Parker was also interested in cults, which is where Gated comes in.

I also got some books signed.

I don’t know about that, someone told me about a bad experience they had with an author (don’t know who).

Oh WOW! I’d loooove to go to a book signing! I’ve never actually met a “real live author” yet, so it’s top of my to-do list. But ALLY CARTER??!! o.O Definitely deserves all caps.
