Judge A Book By Its Signature: The Program – Suzanne Young

judgeabook

I don’t know about you, but my signature is downright ugly. And lame. Let’s not forget lame. Every time I sign my name on something, whether it be a receipt or a new credit card, I wince inside. I don’t know how people come up with such awesome pretty signatures. I’m totally out of the loop with that.

One day, after getting multiple books signed, I thought what if instead of judging a book by its cover, you judge the book by the author’s signature? Will the author’s signature attract you to the book? Will you still buy the book then?

This week, I’m featuring The Program by Suzanne Young.

cover

I have to admit, the cover of The Program doesn’t really stand out to me, except the whiteness of it. However, if you look at the actual hardcover front cover instead of the dust cover front cover, now that cover is gorgeous.

Not really. The Program doesn’t have my type of cover.

signature

Suzanne Young’s signature is okay; I’m not that impressed with it. I do like the way she writes her “y”‘s and the unique heart she added. (Unique because the heart curves onto itself at the end unlike all the other regular hearts people write.)

Nah. I’ve seen better signatures out there. The cover is cute though.

Will you buy The Program based on the author’s signature alone?

I don’t think I would buy this book for that signature (although; signed books are the best :p) I like the way she writes the ‘S’ and I agree about the heart, but it’s nothing too special.

I like the way she adds a little extra message besides her signature. The cover is kind of plain but I enjoyed the book and am looking forward to the sequel. I would purchase this book but that’s because I’ve read it on epub and would like to own the print version. Thanks for sharing.

I agree, her signature is just okay. I do like how she writes her “S” — that’s pretty!
