Top Ten New-To-Me Authors I Read In 2013

toptentuesday

Each week, The Broke and Bookish host a Top Ten Tuesday based on a certain bookish topic. Other bloggers are able to participate and post their own top ten list based on the topic.

This week’s Top Ten Tuesday topic is a Top Ten New-To-Me Authors I Read In 2013.

So here’s my list in no particular order:

allouryesterdays theburningsky altered

1. Cristin Terrill (author of All Our Yesterdays)
All Our Yesterdays is so good. I’ll definitely be checking out all Cristin Terrill’s other books.

2. Sherry Thomas (author of The Burning Sky)
I know that Sherry Thomas also writes historical romances, but The Burning Sky is actually my first Sherry Thomas book. I love the epic romances she writes and will definitely be checking out more of her books soon.

3. Jennifer Rush (author of Altered)
I was a bit skeptical about Altered before I even read it, but Jennifer Rush managed to win me over. Hopefully Erased won’t disappoint.

daughterofsmokeandbone vicious poison

4. Laini Taylor (author of Daughter of Smoke & Bone)
I can’t believe I haven’t read any Laini Taylor books until this year! (This is a hint that if you haven’t read any of her books yet, you have to change that now).

5. Victoria Schwab (author of Vicious)
Vicious amazed me so much that I gave it a 5 star rating. I need to check out Victoria Schwab’s other book asap.

6. Maria V. Snyder (author of Poison Study)
Poison Study is as amazing as everyone else says. I can’t wait to read Maria V. Snyder’s other books and fangirl all over them. Hopefully I will be able to do so next year.

pivot thissongwillsaveyourlife beautiful

7. Kasie West (author of Pivot Point)
With the way Pivot Point ended, Kasie West is definitely on the top of my list. I can’t wait until February to finally get a resolution!

8. Leila Sales (author of This Song Will Save Your Life)
This Song Will Save Your Life is such an amazing read. I’ll definitely have to check out Leila Sales other books. Hopefully I’ll like them too, especially since I usually don’t like reading contemporary books 90% of the time.

9. Page Morgan (author of The Beautiful and the Cursed)
I never expected to like this as much as I do. Give me The Lovely and the Lost please!

vamp10. Richelle Mead (author of Vampire Academy)
I wonder how many of you guys are gasping in surprise that I just started reading Vampire Academy this year. I’m planning on finishing the rest of the series, plus the Bloodlines series at the beginning of next year. Hopefully I can do it. -crosses fingers-

Great list!! I love Poison Study so much, I’m glad you ended up loving it to :). Although I thought the other two books in the Study series never really got up to the level that Poison Study, but I still really enjoyed them. And it can’t wait for the next in the series to come out!!!
I think one of my new years revolutions it to start the Vampire Academy series. I’ve never read anything in that series, and with all the hype it has plus the movie coming out soon, I want to start it.

Always great to see a new fan of Richelle Mead! She is fabulous in every genre she does. I haven’t read The Burning Sky, but I adore Sherry Thomas’s historical romances. His at Night is one of my all-time favs!! I still need to read Laini Taylor, but I plan to soon.

I was skeptical of Altered as well, but I’m so glad I gave it a chance! I won a preorder of Erased, so I should have my hands on it soon :D And don’t worry – I just started reading Vampire Academy a few weeks ago. I want to read both series by the end of next year as well!

Laini Taylor and Richelle Mead are new authors I read this year too. And I read them both only because someone recommended it to me. And I’ve only read VA, I’ve yet to read the rest of the series.
