Waiting On Wednesday [40]

waitingonwednesday

WAITING ON WEDNESDAY is a weekly event, hosted at Breaking The Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating.

This week, I’m waiting on a book where I sure don’t want to be the main character of the book.

toalltheboysivelovedbeforeTo All The Boys I’ve Loved Before
Author: Jenny Han
Series: None
Genre: Young Adult, Contemporary, Romance
Publisher: Simon & Schuster Books for Young Readers
Release Date: April 15, 2014
Summary:

Lara Jean’s love life goes from imaginary to out of control in this heartfelt novel from the New York Times bestselling author of The Summer I Turned Pretty series.
What if all the crushes you ever had found out how you felt about them all at once?
Lara Jean Song keeps her love letters in a hatbox her mother gave her. They aren’t love letters that anyone else wrote for her; these are ones she’s written. One for every boy she’s ever loved – five in all. When she writes, she pours out her heart and soul and says all the things she would never say in real life, because her letters are for her eyes only. Until the day her secret letters are mailed, and suddenly, Lara Jean’s love life goes from imaginary to out of control.

I am intrigued with the concept of this one! Man, if I was in Lara’s position, I’ll be so embarrassed and probably hide for life. Hopefully Lara could find a romance out of all this. (:

What book are you looking forward to reading this week?

This is one of the 2014 releases that I’m looking forward to as well. It’s definitely an interesting premise (if it happened to me, I’d be incredibly embarrassed) and Jenny Han’s writing is so beautiful. The protagonist is half-Asian as well, I believe, which adds points in my book (pun not intended).

I’ll be so embarrassed that I would probably hide in my room for the rest of my life. :P
The protagonist is half-Asian? Now I’m 110% sold on the book!

I remember seeing this book mentioned before and falling in love with the cover, but you reminded me to actually put this on my TBR. I love that the story features an Asian girl written by an Asian writer, so I have high hopes for this.

YES! There needs to be more books out there that features an Asian girl written by an Asian writer. In fact, I know only four young adult Asian writers…
