I don’t know about you, but my signature is downright ugly. And lame. Let’s not forget lame. Every time I sign my name on something, whether it be a receipt or a new credit card, I wince inside. I don’t know how people come up with such awesome pretty signatures. I’m totally out of the loop with that.
One day, after getting multiple books signed, I thought what if instead of judging a book by its cover, you judge the book by the author’s signature? Will the author’s signature attract you to the book? Will you still buy the book then?
This week, I’m featuring I Hunt Killers and Game by Barry Lyga.
Will you buy I Hunt Killers and Game based on the author’s signature alone?
I really love this feature! Especially how you talk about the cover and the signature. I’m totally with you on how beautiful and haunting the Killer and Game covers are, but I agree about the signature. I’m not really a fan of the signature, either, but I feel like it’s a common thing to see a boy’s signature less loopy than a girl’s mainly because of the societal idea that boys have to have simple signatures. (Sorry, that’s my inner feminist) Thanks for sharing, Kelly! <33

I wouldn’t pick up the book based on his signature. But I do have it on my Kindle and literally just started reading it today! lol I’m hoping I Hunt Killers is going to meet my expectations and then some! :)

DUDE THIS IS SUCH A STRANGE BUT COOL FEATURE. Seriously. How do you even do this I don’t understand. O_O
Last year I spent the entirety of my math class perfecting my sig >_> Hopefully I’d pass your test lol

I haven’t read the series, but I really like those covers. They’re just so thrilling and dark that ah! I love it. That signature, however, is kind of bland and boring. I know that a sig isn’t supposed to be like ART but at the same time, it would be a lot more fun to see arty sigs. Like Maggie Steifvater’s looks like grafffiti to me, which totally rocks!
Ya know I love this feature :D

Aw, man. I do so love this feature, and stalking all these authors’ signatures. :D
As for these books: I would definitely buy them based on cover alone. They book look kind of creepy and yet fantastic. Creeptastic? I guess.
But the signature doesn’t do it for me. I don’t know if it’s because he’s a guy so there’s no pretty curls and flicks or whatever, but nup. It’s a little boring.
I still want to read the books though.

I love the covers! They’re just so dark… There’s nothing special about his signature though. :( It’s very simple, but maybe that’s just how men sign? I haven’t seen a male author (or any male) sign, so I don’t know. But it’s so plain… I wouldn’t buy it for the signature, but definitely for the covers!
I love this series, but I wouldn’t buy it based on the signature. I’m really excited to see what the books look like without the dust jackets now–I’ll buy them for that!
