Happy New Year guys! I hope you guys are having a wonderful time on this lovely day (okay, I don’t know if today will be a lovely day since I wrote and scheduled this post beforehand :P)!
So since it’s the New Year, I decided it’s the perfect time to make some blogging resolutions for the 2014 year after more than a year of blogging. It’s also the perfect time to change up some things on the blog.
- I will continue on doing book hauls four times a month (one book haul every week) and maybe even create my own name for them. We’ll see.
- I will do no more Waiting On Wednesday posts. They’re not as interesting as I found them before when I started the blog and I also don’t want to do too many memes because they will drag my blog down.
- Start writing the Series Overview posts again! Luckily, many awesome series ends in 2014.
- More Cover Guessing Games! I love making them and from what I gathered from the comments, you guys love doing them too! So basically, win-win for all of us. ;D
- I’ll make you guys work a bit for Monthly Wrap Up giveaways, but don’t worry, they’ll be fun and the prizes will be worth it, I promise.
- There will be more personal posts about my life, each titled Life Of A Blogger. Life Of A Blogger was created by Jessi from Novel Heartbeat so you guys can learn more about us bloggers’ lives! Hopefully you’ll enjoy reading about my life and other blogger’s lives as well!
- I’ll be visiting more blogs, new blogs, and commenting more often. Hopefully. (I can’t really keep this promise during the school year – it really depends on how much homework I get.)
So on to the Cover Guessing Game!
For those of you who don’t know what the Cover Guessing Game is, I’ll explain it all here: you see all the pictures below? One of those pictures is equal to one book cover. That means those twelve pictures correspond to twelve different books. In the Cover Guessing Game, you’ll have to guess what picture is a piece of what book cover. Up for the challenge? I hope you are!
This Cover Guessing Game will last all month so you can take your time to have fun and guess the answers for extra points for the Rafflecopter. Also, entries towards the Cover Guessing Game is not required, but you can earn extra points when you do them. You’ll have to get the book correct though or your entries will be disqualified.
And before I forget, I’ll have to name the prize of course. The winner of the Cover Guessing Game can win a SIGNED PERSONALIZED copy of Cress by Marissa Meyer since she’s stopping by in NYC February 2014.
The Rules + Hints:
- The books used in this Book Cover Guessing Game are my top 15 favorite books I’ve read in 2013. That means books that were released in 2011, 2012, etc. might be used in this puzzle. (This is why I never did the Top Ten Favorite Books I Read In 2013 that was given yesterday for Top Ten Tuesday. :P)
- At first, I wanted to give the prize to the first person who guessed all the above book covers correctly, but I figured that it would be unfair to people in different time zones. Therefore, I will allow Rafflecopter to pick the winner. However, the winner the Rafflecopter picks must have all the correct answers to win or all their entries will be eliminated and I will choose a new winner. Sorry about that, but hey, all the Cover Guessing Game entries are not required. Do the Cover Guessing Game at your own risk.
- Rafflecopter (sometimes) does not let you change your answer once you input your answer in. If you do want to change your answer for any book cover after submitting your old answer to the Rafflecopter, simply email me at whatisakelly(at)gmail(dot)com with the subject “January Cover Guessing Game Answer” with your new book cover answer and the name you used to enter the contest.
- If the Rafflecopter does not accept your answers, just email me your answers at whatisakelly(at)gmail(dot)com with the subject “January Cover Guessing Game.”
Good luck everyone & let the guessing game begin! ;D
*EDIT*
And now, the moment you guys have all been waiting for, the answers!

- The giveaway will run until January 31, 2014.
- You must be 18 years or older, or have parents’ permission to enter.
- All your entries will be disqualified if you pickup entries for something you haven’t done. (I had to do this for so many of my last giveaways, please don’t make me do this again.)

- If the winner does not respond to my e-mail within 48 hours, I will have to choose another winner.

I found the cover guessing game to be very hard and not much fun.
Aww, I’m sorry to hear that. ):

And P.S. It wasn’t THAT hard, but there were a few that took me a while. I still managed to get them all! Great mix of covers! And #3 had me stumped because I’ve never looked that close at the cover…the main portion (it’s red, it draws my eyes lol) has always been my focus. Sneaky sneaky!! ;)

Okay, So I always have fun with this game. This time was medium, although I still can figure out number 6 and 8 and the thing is that I’ve seen the covers! hahaha okay my level of frustration is really high right now.
Thanks for doing this cover game again and for hosting this amazing giveaway.
Happy New Year!! ^^

Not hard. #5 took me some time but the others were easy. It was FUN. Thanks so much for this opportunity. I’m VERY excited for Cress!
This was hard for me because I haven’t read many popular books lately! But it’s a cool way to run a giveaway. :)

I love these games! :D It was really hard, though… It took me a looooong time to guess them all, but I finally did it :)
Got them all!! I think at least :) Medium/hard. I used ingenuity.
Got stumped on #4 and #10, but figured them out eventually. It was fun and medium-hard. :D

That was hard *sigh*

Id say medium but pretty challenging! :)
I knew 6 of them right of the bat, but the rest took a some searching. I’m still stuck on one of them. Hopefully I’ll figure it out!
Happy New Year!
Thanks for the giveaway! I got stumped on two of them, but other than that it wasn’t so bad. ;)
I would say medium to hard! I found most of them quite challenging, like cover 3. And I recognize some of them, but I just can’t come up with the title or author, like cover 2. This was fun, I’m going to think about it :D Good luck with your blogging resolutions! I’m also done with most memes like WoW.

It was medium-I knew about half of them! Cool game!
Hey! happy new year..This Book Cover Guessing Game is quite hard though I do recognise some of them..hee..

Geez, these are always so hard! There’s always one or two I can get right away and I’m like, this is so easy! And then it just goes down hill from there.
I only got five. #15 has got me so freaking stumped!
It looked really hard at first glance, but with some focus on the tiny details and going back into your archives, I think I got them all in the end. Or at least most. We’ll see!

And Happy New Year!
Best of luck with all your goals for 2014. I’m excited to see your series overviews — and of course more cover guessing games! I can’t believe this is the first one I’ve participated in — what is wrong with me?! This one is so much fun, but arrrrrrrrrghhh I have no idea what #15 is lol!!

it’s hard. i just manage to guess 2 books
I only know #13 , guess I’m out!
My goodness that one was tricky, some were super easy. #12 had me stuck for a long time. I would say this one was hard!

I have some tricks I use but I this still took quite some time. You were really good at making small pics! I’d say medium since I did find them all :)

I have to admit this was mostly fun and easy, and I got all the way down to one, and then I was totally STUCK!!! It was hard. I literally went through all your archives like, three times in a row. Still, I couldn’t figure it out. It wasn’t until I realized the one discernible shape was NOT AT ALL what I thought it was, and BOOM, I found it.
You did good. This was a totally unique way to show your favorite reads of 2013. Love it. Great choices, too. I would LOVE to win CRESS and read/review it. Thank you for this awesome opportunity!
Feel free to check out my blog giveaway, too. It’s a signed HC, too. See the link below.

Kelly, not sure why, but the rafflecopter keeps showing one book entry as if I didn’t submit it, and I keep re-entering it when I see it. I hope this doesn’t disqualify me for the contest. Is it showing up on your end? If so, I’ll let it be.
This was such a clever way to do a YIR giveaway.

Ha ha, I’m glad you had fun. And it’s always that one cover that always stumps you. :P
Thanks! It took me awhile to think of this idea – I was bored with other giveaways I’ve entered so I thought, well, why not make this one fun and unique?
And don’t worry, I checked all your answers on Rafflecopter and it’s all there. It’s just Rafflecopter being crazy.

Kelly,
Thanks for liking my FB author page. I’m working on a complete reboot/rewrite (from scratch) after notes from a professional editor friend. Sometimes rewriting it for the umpteenth time is more futile than just opening a new document and starting over without all the problems of the first MS. The new version is a zillion times better than what I’ve got posted on my blog. Good luck on winning the signed HC of FAULT LINE on my blog. It’s an AMAZING read.

DAMN, GIRL, YOU GET ENTRIES FAST. And it’s medium, I guess, but it’s fun (when is it not?) Still not done though. :P THANKS, KELLY, FOR MAKING ME FORGET ALL ABOUT MY ASSIGNMENTS DUE TOMORROW. LOL I’m kidding, I don’t care. I’ll pull an all-nighter or just hope schools are closed tomorrow. Anyway, I’m sorry I’ve stopped commenting. I’ve completely disappeared on any sort of blog/website/stufflikethat the past few months. Basically, I’ve been a hermit. But it’s a new year, and I’m getting back to reading & commenting on posts. :D Btw, I’m completely serious about the Twitter comment I left (Rafflecopter). Okay, going to figure out the rest of the book covers and then [maybe] do work. ;)
I guess it was medium, most of it was pretty easy and familiar. But I got stuck at number 4 and 8, I got to say it was pretty tricky. I spent most of the time figuring out number 4, but it turns out the book wasn’t so hard to find. I mean I see it all the time but I have to look pretty closer to see that. It was fun though! :D Happy New Year and good luck with your new year resolutions! Thanks for the giveaway (:
I am obsessed with book covers so this felt like the perfect game for me. I had so much fun doing this and trying to recall the possible covers that could correspond to the pictures. For the majority I found it quite easy because I am familiar with most of the covers but there were a small couple that got to me (I’m talking to you number 4) but I still conquered them all. I love a challenge and honestly the more difficult ones made it all the more fun and interesting for me. I love games and when I finished this one, as lame as this sounds I felt accomplished (sad, I know). I’m very glad you’re planning on doing more of these as I will be looking forward to them.
I had a lot of fun with the giveaway, it was much less difficult than the last Cover Game giveaway you did (that one I worked on for HOURS, but I had fun then too so worry not!)
I actually recognized half of them immediately, so I had to look into a bit farther and I didn’t do 1 and 12 because even though I *think* I know one I’m not certain and 12 is just beyond me.
So, I had TONS of fun with this game, and I hope you’ll do more of its kind! And, of course, mouthwatering prize! xD thank you!
Happy new year Kells!

i found the challenge hard but really fun:)
Fairly easy. Most of them I could recognize cause they are my favorite books (and covers!). A few of them had such interesting crops and highlighted an area I’d never notice on the cover. ;)
I think it was medium-hard. The crazy thing is #10 was the hardest for me and it’s one of my favorite books! I’m way more familiar with the hardcover version of the cover though! Lots of fun! :)

Some are easy, some took just a little research to double check, and some are hard. I though I knew what #8 was…but when I looked, I noticed I found #9 instead. I got lucky on that one because I never would have guessed it!

This was pretty hard, especially number #6 and #8, but at last i got it.
This was really hard!! I could only find out like 3 of them. :P
Medium! I’m stuck on #8 and #12, but I’m pretty sure I’ve got the other ones right. :D
It wasn’t that hard. :P I found all of them except for #12! :)
It wasn’t TOO hard, and I think it was a lot of fun : ) It took a while, but I’m pretty sure I got them all! (I found an answer for all of them anyway :P)
This was cool! I found all of them fairly easily except for number 3 which I struggled with for a while until I saw another comment above suggesting it wasn’t the main focus of the cover.. then I got it! :D
It was definitely really hard! But still a lot of fun :)
I may have had a sneaky look through your GR shelves lol
Good luck with all your goals :D

It wasn’t easy I’ll admit that! But it was a lot of fun. I’ve done one of these only one other time and I was so happy to find another. Loved it!! Thank you so much!!!
I thought its was kind of hard. Three were easy but the rest were hard. I had to search for them. I’m still have one cover to figure out.
Aw this was awful! My main source of books (because I travel a lot) is ebooks, so i don’t see the covers often!
It was easy but I couldn`t figure out one book. I love this kind a contest.
It was actually fun, I loved this!
It was medium for me!
I found it to be really fun. It was a bit hard but I succeeded in guessing them all so it’s doable. Thanks for making such an entertaining giveaway and Happy New Year!

i would say quite hard but it was fun too ! Thanks for this giveaway ^^
I think medium for me! :D
Keeping fingers crossed!
I would say it’s medium-ish with a few tricky ones. Thanks for the giveaway!

I think it’s hard, but in a good way….if that makes sense. It’s like a complex puzzle that I REALLY want to figure out. If you couldn’t already tell, I’m still going. XD
Hmmm, this is hard but I must say this is a really creative idea! Not many bloggers do something like this and that makes it special. ;) thanks for your generosity in offering this giveaway to us humble readers! Thank god for kind bloggers like you. Lol. :]
I recognized three of them right off the bat, but the others…I’m just too lazy.
WOW! That was tough, but actually a lot of fun! I recognized some of the covers and the rest I was like where in the heck is that book? Finally figured some of them out… although I’m not 100% confident in my responses. Thanks so much for hosting this giveaway!
It wasn’t very hard. Some of the covers were very easy to recognize. However it requires some attention to details. Well, that’s the fun of the game. Keep posting this kind of games. I really think they’re fun and exciting!
This was a lot of fun to do! Thanks for a unique and fun contest like this! I would say the difficulty level was easy to medium.
This one was actually pretty easy, ’cause most of the books I’ve either already read or are on my TBR list. Thanks for a giveaway! :)
At first I thought it would be super hard but after actually trying to figure out the covers, I thought it was alright.
Thanks for this giveaway! :)
Fun! Next time I’ll host a giveaway like this too <3
This was awful. I went through most of your books or reviews. I did my best.
