Life Of A Blogger: If You Could Live Anywhere?

lifeofablogger

Life Of A Blogger is hosted by the fabulous Jessi from Novel Heartbeat where we let people know more about our lives outside of blogging so they can get to know us better!

If I can live anywhere, I’ll live in a place where money grows on trees and I don’t have to work at all (unless you count knocking down the trees/climbing the trees “work”). I’ll just sit down all day, not having to worry about not having a job or having to earning money, just reading a good book.

moneytrees

If only real life was like this – I’ll be shaking trees all over the place.

But obviously, such a place sadly doesn’t exist. (If it does, I’ll totally be living there right now.)

Here’s the thing about me: I don’t really care where I live (okay, that’s a lie, I would care if I’m not living in a place where money grows on trees if that exists) as long as I live in a house that has a room that’s my own personal library. I also want some roomy space. Also, as long as there aren’t any cockroaches or mice, it’s fine. (I don’t think that’s asking for too much.) That’s it. I’m pretty easy to satisfy and please when it comes to where I live.

I have to admit, I’m a city girl though and I doubt I’ll do well in the country – picking up horse poop or just seeing LONG dirt roads that stretch for miles? No thanks. I want busy streets (as long as there is actually room to walk and where people walk fast) and lots of shops. I want people around me (there is safety in numbers) and lots of bookstores.

So the bottom line is I can live anywhere; I don’t really mind where, as long as it’s somewhere in the city. Okay, I kind of lied again, I don’t mind where I live as long as it is an area with a few natural disasters and problems (earthquakes, tsunamis, volcanos, etc.) because I want to be safe.

How about you? If you could live anywhere, where would you live?

I’d live under a tree that grows books. Free books forever! And well, a tree that grows money too because that’s like a necessity. I’m city girl too but unlike you, I’d like to live in the country because I’m pretty sick of seeing buildings everywhere.

Good idea! Why didn’t I think of that? That’ll save me SO much money. :P
If I don’t see a building at least 22 miles from me, I personally panic. Unless I’m in a moving car of course because then, I know I’m heading toward the city. :D

I think someone really needs to figure out the whole money growing on trees thing :)

I’m definitely with you, Kelly! I’m in love with the idea of a city, especially since NYC is where Broadway is. The city is just so diverse and i love the idea of being able to walk anywhere and everywhere. Thanks for sharing! <33

I had a condo where the crack-dealing guy (not exaggerating) in the adjacent condo was infested with roaches, and they came wandered into my place as a result. It was disgusting. And horrifying. When I finally moved, as I was packing, I sprayed all of my moving boxes with roach spray. I had read about how easy it is to bring roaches from one place to another when you move, and I was so scared it would happen to me. But I must have sprayed a lot, because my house is roach-free! :) I’ve lived here for 6 years, and I STILL worry that I’ll see a roach somewhere. That’s how traumatized I was.

OK – was that disgusting enough for you? I’ll switch to something nice. My dream place would be a house on the beach. I don’t think I’d be too picky about the beach, but like you, I would be worried about earthquakes and such, so I might have to nix California. (But if someone wanted to give me a beach-front house in Malibu, I’d be willing to chance it.)

It’s the suburbs for me, I think. Not as busy as the city, but still enough book shops!

I’m pretty much with you in that I’m not fussy about where I live. Australia will always be my home :)

I have never seen a cockroach in anywhere I’ve lived. I’m petrified of all bugs. That’s why I’m thinking the typical New York condo dream might not be for me.

I think I would love to live somewhere with great natural beauty, but on the colder side. I don’t really like sand or too much sun. I would want somewhere connected to the world but not in the middle of everything. I want my own corner of the world. I don’t want a big house. I’m perfectly fine with a smaller place as long as everything is clean and preferably new. The place that comes to mind for me is Vancouver, because I can stay in Canada, and be close to both the mountains and the oceans.

At one of my old apartments, we had this balcony and my cats would sit on the ledge ALL day, just in the off-chance of seeing one of the many mice that would run around. Fortunately, I never saw one indoors, but my cat’s did get quite fat when I lived there….

I love everything the city has to offer, but I’ve always pictured living just outside of a big city. Close enough to be able to go do what I want, when I want. But far enough away that I have privacy from my neighbours, and hopefully a nice lake to relax by! Like you, I don’t particularly care WHERE this place is, as long as it meets those two requirements :D

Growing up, I wanted to live in a city, then around high school, I thought the city was too much. I’d go with friends to NYC for a day trip and it was overwhelming. Now that I’m in a city again for college, I don’t think I mind it as much. But I think I’m happiest when I have friends around, things to do, and surrounded good food and books. I have to make an exception though, I don’t think I’ll ever be used to living in the country.

Don’t we all wish for that?

I like that you didn’t pick a specific place. As long as you have all the necessary stuff in your life, you could be anywhere and live a happy life. But yes, CITY 4 LYFE (and no natural disasters). I think I’d be bored living in the countryside. I like to hear the bustle of the city life. It’s home for me. I would love to live in Europe. Maybe in London? :D

I’m definitely a Cali girl. I’ might make a few exceptions, but as of now, I don’t want to stray too far from home and family. As far as state/country, I might be picky. But like you said, I just need a clean house and a personal library room thing. That’s a must.
As for city/country, as much as I might love the idea of a huge ranch-style house with lots of trees, a few horses, a lake and far from people… I doubt I could do that. Maybe for a while. As long as I’m close enough to family and I have internet. But I’d miss the stores and movies and the library. So I’m fine in this general area just outside of LA
Btw, if you ever find that Animal Crossing like place, please let me know! I am totally down to shake money out of trees.

I’ve always fantasized about living in a little seaside cottage that was basically just a bedroom and a gigantic library inside the house. I mean, a bathroom would be nice, but not totally necessary as long as the first two were there :)

I don’t care where I live, as long as it’s with my loved ones, a warm climate and a big house with a gigantic library and pool :D Haha. I’m also a city girl, but it would be awesome to live in a city nearby a beach.

I’d love to live everywhere. :)
If I could take my family with me, and stay self-sufficient, and not sacrifice my future to do it, I’d love to live in New Zealand for a few years, Switzerland for a few years, northern Italy for a few years, Sweden or Iceland for a few years, and then perhaps on a ship for the rest of it. ;)

LOL Kelly, this post is so cute. :P I would LOVE to live where money grows on trees, but that would lead to economic problems..? And suppose I was the only one with money-growing trees, I wouldn’t exactly want people breaking in and trespassing. No one has to know though, right? ;) I’m not a city girl. I hate places with too much people and cars and noise and buildings. :/ There is like no space whatsoever between buildings in Manhattan LOL. But I don’t like the country either– TOO much space, to the point where you’re like “where are my neighbors?” And it can’t be too cold or too hot either… I feel like I can’t live anywhere. >< I'm too picky. I'll be homelessssss. Oh god, how will I ever go to college like this?

If that place existed, I’d be moving in with you!! If only, right? *wistful sigh*
I want my own personal library, too! That’s a requirement for my fiancé and I when we find a place: Our future house has to have at least 3 bedrooms so we can have a library/office!
