Series Overview: Pivot Point Duology – Kasie West

Series Summary:

Knowing the outcome doesn’t always make a choice easier…
Addison Coleman’s life is one big “What if?” As a Searcher, whenever Addie is faced with a choice, she can look into the future and see both outcomes. It’s the ultimate insurance plan against disaster. Or so she thought. When Addie’s parents ambush her with the news of their divorce, she has to pick who she wants to live with — her father, who is leaving the paranormal compound to live among the “Norms,” or her mother, who is staying in the life Addie has always known. Addie loves her life just as it is, so her answer should be easy. One Search six weeks into the future proves it’s not. With love and loss in both lives, it all comes down to which reality she’s willing to live through…and who she can’t live without. (Taken from Goodreads)

Judge A Series By Its Covers:
I like these covers, especially the cover of Split Second. I love the cover model’s hair, her expression, and all the colors used. Meanwhile, I don’t like the cover of Pivot Point that much. It’s just not my type of cover. I also don’t like how the cover designer blackened the cover model’s eyes. It makes the cover model look…weird.

What I Liked:

  •  The love interest (love interest(s) when you look at Split Second)! The love interest(s) are so sweet and just so swoon-worthy. They will make you sigh and smile so wide. Just so you know, both of them are my book boyfriends. ;D
  • Both Pivot Point and Split Second are easy, light, fun, and fluffy reads. If you’re having a hard day, this series is perfect for you.
  • The series is worth reading just to meet Addie alone. Addie is the best friend you wish you had in your life. I mean, she gave up so much for a best friend that doesn’t deserve her friendship (in my opinion).

What I Didn’t Like:

  •  For me, Pivot Point was a slow read – the middle of the book dragged.
  •  Addie’s best friend, Laila. She got on my nerves sometimes and like I said in the above section, I felt like Laila didn’t deserve Addie’s friendship.

Do I Recommend It?
Yes! If you’re in the mood to read a light, fluffy, fun book, then this series would be perfect for you!

Favorite Book in the Series:

  •  No doubt Split Second. I wasn’t that into Pivot Point, but Split Second totally won my heart, mostly because of Trevor and Connor. -swoons-

Favorite Character(s):

  •  Addie, Addie, Addie of course! I wish Addie was a real person – she’ll make a perfect best friend. I love how loyal she is, how awesome she is, and how nice she is.

Effortlessly Quotable:

  •  “Aw, I’m like a proud mother bird watching my daughter fly from the nest. Fly, little bird, fly. Oh no! Don’t fall. No, that’s the ground. Addie, watch out for the ground. Man, tough luck.” (Pivot Point, 96)
  •  What about you? How does it feel to know that even though you have an advanced mind, the girl you love wants me? (Split Second, 249)
  •  He put his hand on the screen, and I put mine up against it. “Thanks for choosing me, Addison.” (Split Second, 360)

I have always been very interested in reading Pivot Point, I just really need to find it in the bookstores.. and I’m glad that the good things really outweighs the things you dislike about it. I kind of don’t mind slow read books although I don’t really like moments like that as well..

I really liked this series too. I love how well everything connects and how there aren’t loose ends, which I appreciated it. I was hesitant at first to read it, but then I did and I really loved it.

I never read any book related to Russia, but this seems like a good read. :)

Interestingly enough, I liked Pivot Point more. I still liked Split Second, but PP was my favorite. I totally agree about Laila – at least in PP. She improved in SS, but I was still shocked that she’d been such an awful friend.
