Till It Arrives: Seeker – Arwen Elys Dayton

Till It Arrives is inspired by Jamie from The Perpetual Page-Turner’s Save the Date feature. Sometimes I read books that are not released anytime soon, but I want to share some of my feelings on the book right away, so Till It Arrives is born! (It also allows me to read books that appear later in my schedule, so that’s awesome too.) Since I don’t usually use GIFs in my reviews, I thought I’ll use plenty of GIFs to describe my feelings for the book I’m talking about in this feature!

Summary:

Their legacy is a calling. An honor. A lie.
The night Quin Kincaid takes her Oath, she will become what she has trained to be her entire life. She will become a Seeker. This is her legacy, and it is an honor.
As a Seeker, Quin will fight beside her two closest companions, Shinobu and John, to protect the weak and the wronged. Together they will stand for light in a shadowy world.
And she’ll be with the boy she loves – who’s also her best friend.
But the night Quin takes her Oath, everything changes.
Being a Seeker is not what she thought. Her family is not what she thought. Even the boy she loves is not who she thought.
And now it’s too late to walk away.

First Sentence: It would be nice to make it through alive, Quin thought.

I received a copy of the book from NYCC in exchange for a honest review. All opinions are my own and I was not compensated for this review.

My Review:
A Tale of It Could Have Been Epic:

When I first saw that Seeker is a debut novel with a movie deal soon to be out:

imimpressed

When I predicted the plot twist the summary hinted at:

fifthsense

When I think about the characters and the romance (there’s also a love triangle):

dispproving

As I read Seeker:

facepalm

To sum the book up in a GIF:

bored

For a FULL non-GIF review of Seeker, be sure to check out my blog on February 9!

I guess the plot is very impressive but having the love triangle thingy is kinda a bit cliche but I hope that the film adaptation will be loyal to the book *cough* *cough* *Mortal Instruments* *Percy Jackson* *cough*
