Till It Arrives is inspired by Jamie from The Perpetual Page-Turner’s Save the Date feature. Sometimes I read books that are not released anytime soon, but I want to share some of my feelings on the book right away, so Till It Arrives is born! (It also allows me to read books that appear later in my schedule, so that’s awesome too.) Since I don’t usually use GIFs in my reviews, I thought I’ll use plenty of GIFs to describe my feelings for the book I’m talking about in this feature!
Beastkeeper
Author: Cat Hellisen
Series: None
Genre: Middle Grade, Romance, Fantasy, Retelling
Release Date: February 3, 2015
Publisher: Henry Holt and Co.
Summary:
Sarah has always been on the move. Her mother hates the cold, so every few months her parents pack their bags and drag her off after the sun. She’s grown up lonely and longing for magic. She doesn’t know that it’s magic her parents are running from.
When Sarah’s mother walks out on their family, all the strange old magic they have tried to hide from comes rising into their mundane world. Her father begins to change into something wild and beastly, but before his transformation is complete, he takes Sarah to her grandparents — people she has never met, didn’t even know were still alive.
Deep in the forest, in a crumbling ruin of a castle, Sarah begins to untangle the layers of curses affecting her family bloodlines, until she discovers that the curse has carried over to her, too. The day she falls in love for the first time, Sarah will transform into a beast…unless she can figure out a way to break the curse forever.
First Sentence: The air was full of ice the night that Sarah’s mother packed all her bags and walked out.
I received a copy of the book from the publisher in exchange for a honest review. All opinions are my own and I was not compensated for this review.

Oh my. This sounds so great. And the author is South African so that’s a total plus for me :D

THIS IS THE BEST TYPE OF REVIEW :D I love these retellings, I want to give this a try :)
Seems like such an interesting twist on a fairytale! I think it is interesting looking at it as a family curse too. I would be very excited to read this. Plus the cover is gorgeous.

I’ve been intrigued by this book ever since I saw it on NetGalley, and I’m glad to say that your “review” has got me even more intrigued…I’ll definitely be on the lookout for your full review in February!
This sounds amazing! Looking forward to reading it. I love the cover!
I’m a huge fan of fairytale retellings, so this seems perfect for me. I’m an even bigger fan of first lines that grab a reader, and man, does this book live up to that! It’s almost as good as Jessica Day George’s first line in Dragon Slippers; “It was my aunt’s idea to give me to the dragon.” Or Laini Taylor’s first line in Lips Touch: Three Times, which was, “There’s a certain kind of girl the goblins crave.”
Can’t wait for the full review. In the meantime, I’m adding this to my TBR list.

Looks interesting. Fairy tales retelling is not easy but will be a great hit if it catches the reader’s heart. :)
This book caught my eye ever since I read the synopsis. The twist seems to be very interesting, and it’s good to know you enjoyed it as well. I’ll definitely have to read it :)

I was intrigued by the cover, and the description sounded interesting, but your gifs are what totally won me over. That one about the first few chapters was perfect. Now I know to keep reading even if it is a little painful in the beginning.
I really love this feature.
It is definitely on my TBR list! :)
This book sounds great! And aaahhh the cover is so pretty!
From the cover to the genre, this book really bought me. Magic and retellings are definetely my thing in literature. I loved the review and the gifs you used.
Regards.
I’m in a really middle grade phase and this cover looks awesome. And it’s a retalling which makes me even more curious about this. And apparently, by your review, it’s gives a lot of fells lol. i’m totally excited for this book.
Judging from the gif’s, you liked it but it was so sad and heartbreaking? I absolutely love fairytale retellings (they are amazing!!), though I have to be honest, Beauty and the Beast wasn’t one of my favorite fairytales out of all the fairytales, though this book seems interesting! It’s not the prince that becomes the beast, but the heroine! :O I just might have to check this one out! My TBR/MH list is getting longer and longer :(
Yes, please! I want to read this one in a bad way. I want to cuddle with it while snuggled up by the fire with a cup o hot chocolate. And…. well, that is pretty much it. I, Jaime, really wants this book!
