Till It Arrives is inspired by Jamie from The Perpetual Page-Turner’s Save the Date feature. Sometimes I read books that are not released anytime soon, but I want to share some of my feelings on the book right away, so Till It Arrives is born! (It also allows me to read books that appear later in my schedule, so that’s awesome too.) Since I don’t usually use GIFs in my reviews, I thought I’ll use plenty of GIFs to describe my feelings for the book I’m talking about in this feature!
I Was Here
Author: Gayle Forman
Series: None
Genre: Young Adult, Contemporary, Romance, Mystery
Release Date: January 27, 2015
Publisher: Viking Juvenile
Summary:
Two peas in a pod.
Until…they weren’t anymore.
When her best friend Meg drinks a bottle of industrial-strength cleaner alone in a motel room, Cody is understandably shocked and devastated. She and Meg shared everything — so how was there no warning? But when Cody travels to Meg’s college town to pack up the belongings left behind, she discovers that there’s a lot that Meg never told her. About her old roommates, the sort of people Cody never would have met in her dead-end small town in Washington. About Ben McAllister, the boy with a guitar and a sneer, who broke Meg’s heart. And about an encrypted computer file that Cody can’t open — until she does, and suddenly everything Cody thought she knew about her best friend’s death gets thrown into question.
I Was Here is Gayle Forman at her finest, a taut, emotional, and ultimately redemptive story about redefining the meaning of family and finding a way to move forward even in the face of unspeakable loss.
First Sentence: The day after Meg died, I received this letter: I regret to inform you that I had to take my own life.

lol I love the gif and great review
I’m glad you enjoyed “I Was Here” by Gayle Forman. I remember when I thought “If I Stay” and it’s sequel were good because some reviewers reviewed it super positive. Then someone told me how it really is and I’ve been putting off reading those books. I’m not sure for how long but hopefully I don’t have to. I kinda want to read “Just One Day” and “Just One Year” though…But “I Was Here”…Knowing you remotely liked/loved it makes me confident that it was a fabulous, even good read. Thanks for sharing your thoughts! ^_^
First of all, thank you so much for the giveaway! I personally have never read anything by Gayle Forman -cue gasps- I know. I feel like everyone would try to convince me to, but I’m more of a fantasy, action-packed, romance reader than a realistic fiction reader. Especially if the realistic fiction is going to make me bawl my eyes out (I have not bawled my eyes out when reading a book… yet). So I probably won’t pick up this book, but thanks for the review! :)
Those are some seriously different reactions! I haven’t read any of the authors books yet, but I think I will start with this one. The book that can elicit that last GIF is a book for me!

It looks really good emotional driven read.
Ooh, I’ve only read If I Stay from Forman before, and, like you, I was very underwhelmed – this one seems to tick all the right boxes I want from a contemporary – looking forward to your full review, and thank you for the giveaway. :D

Wow, to know that you hated the other books and love this?!
Oh, I just can’t
I’m excited for this. Aaand… I hope they have a cover makeover once it’s released. JOD’s and IIS’s covers were amazing, but this one, uhhhh….
Still excited, though
So excited for this book! :)
I 100% agree with your gif (and love it) about If I Stay. I loved Just One Day but I’ve read If I Stay and Where She Went and hated them! I love Gayle though so I can’t wait to try I Was Here! I’m glad it looks like you liked it and I’ll be watching for your full review!

I so agree with you about Gayle Forman’s other books I liked where she went a little better than If I stay, but Just One Day was soo boring I felt like i was reading a different book ..not sure I’m gonna give this a chance yet . Actually, after this (All GIF)review I just might ;)

I really enjoyed the gif ( ?) review. I’ve never seen a review quite like that. It made me smile :). The book description as well as the gif review intrigued me and I want to read the book. I have never read a Gayle Foreman novel, and with your opinion about Just One Day and If I Stay (which is on my TBR list), I think I’ll start with I Was Here.
I’m a fan of Ms. Forman. I’d love to win this book.
