Till It Arrives is inspired by Jamie from The Perpetual Page-Turner’s Save the Date feature. Sometimes I read books that are not released anytime soon, but I want to share some of my feelings on the book right away, so Till It Arrives is born! (It also allows me to read books that appear later in my schedule, so that’s awesome too.) Since I don’t usually use GIFs in my reviews, I thought I’ll use plenty of GIFs to describe my feelings for the book I’m talking about in this feature!
Red Queen
Author: Victoria Aveyard
Series: Red Queen Trilogy #1
Genre: Young Adult, Romance, Fantasy
Release Date: February 10, 2015
Publisher: HarperTeen
Summary:
Mare Barrow’s world is divided by blood – those with Red blood serve the elite, whose Silver blood gifts them with superhuman abilities.
Mare is a Red, scraping by as a thief in a poor, rural village until a twist of fate throws her in front of the Silver court. Before the king, princes, and all the nobles, she discovers she has power, too – an ability all her own.
To cover up this impossibility, the king forces her to play the role of a lost Silver princess and betroths her to one of his own sons. Mare is drawn quickly into the Silver world, but risks everything to help the Scarlet Guard – a growing Red rebellion – even as her heart tugs her in an impractical direction. One wrong move can lead to her death, and in the dangerous game she plays, the only certainly is betrayal.
Recent USC grad Victoria Aveyard’s internationally sought-after story of court intrigue and deception will keep readers hurtling along, desperate to find out Mare’s fate. Her honestly and determination, as well as her no-holds-barred attitude, will surely make readers fall in love with her.

oh dear! oh dear! this book is one of the books i was looking forward to in 2015…and it does not bode well that you are the second blogger that gave the same kind of reaction to this one. I love the sound of the premise…it’s fantasy and i love fantasy…that cover is bloody dripping red i love it too and i am just slowly feeling discouraged about this ugh!..how could it have gone wrong?!
I’m nervous now about this one. I’ve seen some meh things so far. I wanted this to be absolutely amazing but now I’m a tad hesitant to read it. :-(

Eeeeeek. That makes me incredibly apprehensive about reading this book. I knew there was going to be romance (b/c what YA doesn’t have it?), and I was already NOPE. D:

Kelly, I’m so worried! Oh no! I was really looking forward to reading Red Queen next year…now I don’t know what to think. Being more acquainted with your reviews, I know this one either got a 2 1/2 or 3 or somewhere around there. And I’m not sure…I still kind of want to read this one, but I also want to read your whole review to know why you didn’t like it so much and why it made you so bored. Either way, I always appreciate your honesty! :)
I was really looking forward to reading Red Queen next year but now i’m disappointed :(

Interesting story and great review :)
AHHHH!! I was planning to read this book immediately after seeing the synopsis for it, and I still am. But aww :( I was so excited about this book because of the fantasy and romance element in it, I’ve read good reviews and bad ones, and I really hope I end up loving the book and shipping the couple hard. Thanks for the review though! Can’t wait till this book comes out :)
NOOOOOOOOO! Please no, just say it isn’t so. Please say that you are lying, that this isn’t true. That you really really loved it! Please! I am seriously brokenhearted!

Oh no, sad to hear that it’s kinda boring ): And also, that face for the romance…doesn’t look promising, haha.
I still need to read/review it, eeep. oh well! Thanks for the quick review!

Oh noooooo!!!!! I was hoping this one would be good. I’ve heard it’s a hit or a miss. You’re obsessed with it or you absolutely hate it. I’m sorry you were in the latter :( I love the gif-usage though!

so I thought I wanted this book, but you have been among a few bloggers who said it was a ‘meh’ book… Now I’m torn…
Nooo, i was so excited to read it :(
And the cover is wow!
I read teh excerpt and I loved it, like you enjoyed the first chapters! I loved the action and the characters and world – I hope I don’t find it as boring as you did. I don’t need a lot of action and I really like romance so perhaps it won’t be a dud for me.
LOVE your gif reviews!!
Wow, I may read this just to see why you have experienced these things… It seemed exciting enough when I put it in my TBR pile. :( hmmmmm

Thjs book sounds so interesting so I am disappointed to see that you didn’t like it! It looks like you thought it started out good but then there wasn’t enough action and it went downhill. I can’t wait to read your full review to see the details and maybe I’ll wait to read the book until then! Thanks for the review in GIFs!
This is so so disappointing. I was really looking forward to this one – probably one of my most anticipated book for 2015. I love your review in GIFs though. Hmmm. I think I’ll probably still check this one out. Or maybe I’ll wait for your full review and then see if I still want to read it.

Hmm, I was excited for this book earlier this year, but a lot of early reviews have been saying it’s rather boring….I look forward to your full review to decide if this one is for me or not.
I love the use of the gifs! Makes me want to read the book even though I didn’t get an ARC. Hopefully time will fly and I’ll be able to read it sooner than later!
Damn it, I had expectations for this book… Granted the synopsis sounded a little bit gimmicky, and i’m always distrustful of romance elements thrown in like that, but there was a lot of good things that could be built up from there… shame.
Will still read your full review!
(I love the Till It Arrives section of your blog btw, as a big fan of using reaction gifs for short posts and immediate thoughts)
nooo! I was looking forward to read this
now I think I want to read this, but I am having serious second thoughts…

Oh dear — based on the GIFs, I’m starting to feel something bad about this book. So sad because this is one of the books I’m eagerly anticipating in 2015. Well, I’m still looking forward to read it and we’ll see what happens. I hope I’ll love it (even though I have second thoughts).

I am hesitant towards reading the full review. Even though i am very very curious to know what went wrong i want to read the book just for that cover! LOVE the cover! Uhhh……Dont like this dilemma!
OH NO! I had such high hopes for this one! I know fantasy sometimes has a lot of exposition and takes awhile to get started, so I was hoping that was the case. Then…you kept being bored. And the reaction to the romance? BOO.
I guess a good cover can only do so much.
Wow, I’ve only heard good things about this book. Odd. Great use of gifs. :)
Well, it doesn’t sound good! I won’t be adding this book to my TBR list. Thanks for the honesty!
So excited to see your full review! I love the gifs as always. :)
