Life Of A Blogger: Achievements

lifeofablogger

Life Of A Blogger is hosted by the fabulous Jessi from Novel Heartbeat where we let people know more about our lives outside of blogging so they can get to know us better!

Hmm. “Achievements.” I wonder what kind of achievements this topic is looking for.

Well, the most obvious one is hey, I graduated from high school! Yayy! I also graduated from the third best high school in New York City, a high school you had to take a super hard specialized SAT-style test to get into. (Let’s nicely ignore the fact that even though I got into that high school, I was also a terrible slacker in said high school.)

My next achievement revolving around school is that hey, I currently have a 3.8 GPA! Yeah, Chemistry (a class where the professor just reads off from Powerpoints the textbook company made and constantly made mistakes in front of a 500+ student class when everyone told you that you were wrong) and Calculus (where basically, the professor has the passion for teaching, but doesn’t know how to teach well, which ended up me relying on people on Youtube to teach me everything) sadly ruined my 4.0 GPA. Excuse me while I cry.

As for other achievements? Well, uhhh, I “beat” at least five Pokemon games? Does that count as an achievement? And the fact that I’ve read more than 100 books this year while in college should definitely count as an achievement.

I’ve never seen this feature before but I love the idea! These are definitely achievements! I’ve raised two children to the ages of 12 and 8, does that count?!!!

Haha! Yes, those are all wonderful achievements. My co-blogger and I also graduated from high school this past year and don’t even bring up bad calc and chem teachers! Best of luck with school and grades.

All my achievements are in academics too. I think I have other achievements non-academic related, but I can’t remember. Lolllll.

Kelly, you actually rock! I’ve heard of the dreaded SATs and I am SO GLAD I live in Canada and we don’t have them. I get stressed really easy so a test like that would kill me. Achievements? I just did my first exam today. it was HELL and even worse, I have to do it for the next few years. Eep! I think I did well, though. It was on french :)

well one should learn to be proud of what they have achieved :)
i am at stage of my life where i have a different perspective of what i’ve achieved in life…i could say that having a set of bffs since 1996 is something to be boast of, i have one penpal whom i’ve known since 1994 and slow mail was the thing and we still kept in touch til this day!
i have once read about 250+ books within a year as my GR challenge! ~ that was an insane year for me and most days i felt like a zombie doing a reading marathon O.o
Academic wise, well i finished college with honors…it was extra special then coz i wasn’t expecting it but one of my classmate pushed me to apply as a candidate for honors. i was thankful i listened to her then :)

My achievements? I’ve had several of my poems published in real publications (and even got paid for a few of them) – that’s one, but that’s an old one. Probably my greatest achievement of late was after being a secretary for nearly 25 years, I’m finally working as a professional writer (I am a grant writer for a non-profit organization, and I love it). That and getting a gig with a website that gives me free books and good money for my reviews of those books is making my writing life very satisfying. Of course, my husband of over 35 years, my three children and my daughter-in-law all are things I take pride in, but can’t fully list them as my achievements, per se.

What a fun feature! A big congratulations to you Kelly! As a teacher, this is a huge achievement, especially seeing so many kids not make it or have the motivation to want to do well. Not only did you graduate, but your GPA was still pretty rockin’ (even though you wanted that 4.0)

I’m so proud of you! Good things are going to come to you. I just know it. :)

Oh my goodness. I hate it when you know that your teachers definitely KNOWS Calculus, but he/she can’t teach! *Facepalm*. I’m taking Calculus I right now and goodness gracious, my professor cannot explain finding the limits and all those delta epsilon shitttt. I am so confused. Now I have to go watch some youtube videos (God bless those people). But congrats on your achievements girl! I think 3.8 is an outstanding GPA!
