Summary:

“FIND ME.”
These are the words written on Tessa Waye’s diary. The diary that ends up with Wick Tate. But Tessa’s just been found…dead.
Wick has the right computer-hacking skills for the job, but little interest in this perverse game of hide-and-seek. Until her sister, Lily, is the next target.
Then Griff, trailer-park boy next door and fellow hacker, shows up, intent on helping Wick. Is a happy ending possible with the threat of Wick’s deadbeat dad returning, the detective hunting him sniffing around Wick instead, and a killer taunting her at every step?
Foster child. Daughter of a felon. Loner hacker girl. Wick has a bad attitude and sarcasm to spare.
But she’s going to find this killer no matter what.
Because it just got personal.

First Sentence: I’m halfway through the remote computer’s firewall when Detective Carson parks on the other side of our street.

My Review:

I’ve been meaning to read Find Me for the longest time. Let’s be real, who wouldn’t want to read a book about a female computer hacker who can use her hacking powers to find a killer? I didn’t know what to expect of Find Me – I’ve seen so many positive reviews for it with very few negative ones, but I also didn’t want to get my hopes up that I would enjoy it. To my surprise, I found myself enjoying Find Me and somewhat looking forward to reading the sequel – the “somewhat” part would be explained below.

It’s stupid to be scared. He can’t touch me now. Not when I have this shiny new life…I’m not the same girl Carson turned in to social services.
At least that’s what I tell myself. (2)

As you can probably conclude from reading the synopsis of Find Me, Find Me revolves around a murder – who killed Tessa Waye? I predicted the person behind Tessa’s murder pretty easily as there was this one clue who made it glaringly obvious. However, even though I knew who was behind Tessa’s murder, Find Me didn’t get boring. In fact, Find Me was a quick, fun read.

Although I wasn’t sold on the romance between Wick and Griff at the start, once they got together, I was immediately on board. Before Wick and Griff got together, they will playfully banter and Griff would be there for Wick whenever she needed him. That sadly did nothing for me. However, once their relationship started, their romance was hot. Wick and Griff have a lot of chemistry – a couple of their moments would leave me fanning myself. For young readers, don’t worry, their moments aren’t sexually explicit.

“Wick, police officers are supposed to be good.”
Sure they are, I think. And parents are there when you need them, your teachers care what happens to you, and someday your prince will come. (9)

Find Me has a perfectly fine ending…until the last two sentences. Find Me before those two sentences wrapped up pretty nicely: the murderer situation was dealt with and Wick was free to do whatever she wants to, but then came the two sentences that would pretty much be the focus of the next book. Find Me could have easily been a standalone and would have been fine as a standalone if it wasn’t for the last two sentences. Don’t take me wrong, I would still be reading the sequel, but it bugs me that Find Me has a sequel when it doesn’t need one.

Overall, if you’re in the mood for a quick thriller with a fan-worthy romance, Find Me is definitely the book for you.

Ooohhh! i love the sound of this one. I have been reading a lot of mystery thrillers lately. And a female computer hacker just made me remember Angelina Jolie in Hackers…so yeah i’m definitely putting this on my tbr :)

OMG – I need to read this! But seriously, why can’t we have more stand-alone books in the world!

Surprisingly I haven’t heard much of this book at all. Or maybe I just haven’t paid close attention? But now, I definitely want to read it. I love thrillers / mysteries and this one sounds exciting! I like how there’s a cyber aspect to the story as well which isn’t something I’ve seen a lot in YA although it does intrigue me! And I LOVE that the romance was easy to get behind to! Sucks about the standalone bit though. Honestly, I do wish we would see more standalones outside of the contemporary genre. While I love series, standalones are great too! And sometimes a story just doesn’t need another part to it. Sometimes it’s just good on its own.

Anyway, great review Kelly! You’ve definitely brought this book to my attention and I can’t wait to pick it up! :)

Awesome review Kelly :D I’m glad you ended up mostly liking this book. <3 Though. Well. Not that happy, lol :D As I sort of.. well. I really hated this book :p Everything annoyed me about it, lol. But I'm glad you weren't disappointed by it :) But oh. Best of luck with the sequel. I shall not read it. But I have read about a triangle forming.. of course :( Sigh. But yeah. Curious to know what you think of it if you read it :D Thank you for sharing sweetie. <3

I completely agree with everything you’ve said here Kelly. While this book certainly wasn’t perfect in any sense of the imagination, it was still an engaging and decent thriller – even if it was a bit predictable like you mentioned. Thanks for sharing and, as always, fabulous review! ♥

I love the sound of this premise! It does really bug me though when authors make a book into a series just for the heck of it. It sounds like that is what happened here.

I’m so glad you ended up enjoying Find Me! I read it way back when it was just released and instantly enjoyed it. But I still haven’t had the chance to read the sequel. Not only do I still not own a copy, but I think this year the third book will be released, so I’d rather just wait to buy both at the same time and finish the series. I hope you’ll finish the series too! Especially when there was more negative comments about the second book than there were about the first one… :/

I have been meaning to read this one for a long time myself, but I haven’t made the time yet. Now, I might just have to. I am always looking for a good, quick read between some more serious stories, and this sounds like it would be a good one.
