Patience My Darling: June 2015

patiencemydarling

Patience My Darling is a feature where I highlight books that I’m extremely interested in reading that will be releasing sometime this month. I’ll also be highlighting some books I’ve already read since most people might not have read them yet.

I can’t think of any books that release in June at the top of my head besides one. However, after putting together this post, I am shocked to see so many books being released in June!

June 2nd
thewitchhunter morehappythannot thesummerofchasingmermaids devoted

The Witch Hunter by Virginia Boecker
I love the concept of The Witch Hunter – witch hunters that root out witchcraft (duh Kelly) and one of the best ones being accused of being a witch themselves? SIGN ME UP. Hopefully this has a happy ending.

More Happy Than Not by Adam Silvera
Not only is More Happy Than Not a book featuring a LGBT character, but the synopsis hints that More Happy Than Not would also talk about a very tough touchy topic: those convert gay/lesbian people to straight people camps (I can’t think of any other ways to describe those camps).

The Summer of Chasing Mermaids by Sarah Ockler
Not only does The Summer of Chasing Mermaids has a person of color on the cover, but it sounds – and promises – to be absolutely amazing! Add the fact that The Summer of Chasing Mermaids is a The Little Mermaid retelling and just, all the neeeeeeeed to that book! I wonder if a character that’s suppose to play Ursula’s role will make an appearance…

Devoted by Jennifer Mathieu
I’m always interested in reading books about religion and add the fact that the main character is questioning her own identity and what she believes in definitely piques my interest. I wonder how this one would end.

thestarsneverrise findingaudrey alive thesacredliesofminnowbly

The Stars Never Rise by Rachel Vincent
Okay, time to be honest. I have absolutely no idea what The Stars Never Rise is even about. All I know is Rachel Vincent wrote the book and therefore I MUST read it. Who cares if The Stars Never Rise is a dystopian and I’m dead tired of 99.9% of dystopians – it’s RACHEL VINCENT after all.

Finding Audrey by Sophie Kinsella
I’ve heard nothing but great things about Sophie Kinsella’s books and I can’t wait to see what the hype is about for myself! I also think the promotion package for Finding Audrey is the cutest thing ever and it makes me want to read the book even more.

Alive by Chandler Baker
I kind of don’t get the synopsis of Alive and have absolutely no clue what the solution to the mystery would be. However, the cover of Alive really piques my interest.

The Sacred Lies of Minnow Bly by Stephanie Oakes
A girl who had belonged in a cult that had chopped her hands off who currently refuses to speak and tell her story? Why, GIVE ME THIS BOOK NOW. Please?

everylastword

Every Last Word by Tamara Ireland Stone
The main character is extremely OCD? Well, look at me, I’m a little bit OCD, especially when it comes to my books. Even though I’m tired about reading books about popularity, Every Last Word looks like it’ll be a book that does not completely focus on popularity.

June 23rd
emmyandoliver spiritsandthieves tangledwebs

Emmy & Oliver by Robin Benway
A story of best friends being teared apart and *maybe* reunited later on? Sign me up! Hopefully the two main characters will get together at the end of the book. -wink wink-

Spirits and Thieves by Morgan Rhodes
I know Spirits and Thieves a spin-off of the Falling Kingdoms series, which I haven’t read yet. However, I’ve heard nothing but amazing things about the Falling Kingdoms series, which is what has made me so excited for Spirits and Thieves.

Tangled Webs by Lee Bross
A sixteen year old girl who blackmails people in 1725 London? Sold! My only worry is that Tangled Webs sounds like it has a love triangle. Hopefully I’m wrong and it doesn’t have one because as you know, love triangles ruin everything.
