What Is A Kelly: What I Have Been Up To

When I blog, I love writing personal posts and enjoy reading them. I wanted to do a feature that’ll allow me to share personal parts of my life and Jessi from Novel Heartbeat‘s feature, Life Of A Blogger, did that, until it sadly ended. That’s when I decided to create my own feature sharing snippets of my life, calling it “What Is A Kelly” because as most of you know, that’s my twitter handle. In What Is A Kelly, I want to share parts of my life with you guys!

So I haven’t posted for a few days (bad Kelly, bad bad Kelly), but the reason for that is because I’ve been so busy planning and -cough- doing other “important” things.

Here is what I’ve been up to these past few days:

I am going to ALA in San Francisco and FINALLY, FINALLY, FINALLLLLY meeting one of my best friends!

I originally wasn’t planning on going to ALA in San Francisco. If you’ve asked me a week ago if I was going to ALA, my answer would be no. Flash forward one week later, a lot of convincing (my parents are reallyyyy overprotective), some panicking (past Kelly, why you no pay attention to how things worked at the airport when you went there before?!), and lots and lots of planning happened. Plane tickets were expensive but dude, this is a once in a lifetime chance right?

Best of all, after months of talking, I get to FINALLY meet one of my best friends, Cee from The Novel Hermit! I can’t even put to words how excited I am to finally meet her face to face, awkwardly hug her (I’m SO awkward with hugs), and go through her bookshelf. Cee is also kindly showing me around San Francisco and I can’t wait to act all touristy, snap pictures, and ohh and awwe over everything! We will also be ruling ALA together.

Serious question though, why aren’t there T-shirts that say “Hi, I’m a tourist!”? I would totally buy that.

I have been binging MasterChef Canada

MasterChef is one of the shows I watch religiously because HELLO ALL THE FOOOD and I’ve been into MasterChef Canada recently since I’m all caught up with MasterChef US. In MasterChef Canada Season Two, Christopher’s cake is just so MOUTHWATERING. ALL THAT CHOCOLATE. ALL THOSE LAYERS. Bottom line: GIMME.

I have a summer job!

I will be officially working in the summer! It’s a job that’ll look really good on my resume, teach me new materials that is part of my major, and most of it, it will be EXCITING. Also, did I mention that I would be working in Manhattan, so helllooo book shopping and good food.

I have been dealing with a stressful situation that I can’t mention yet – if ever

I’ve also been dealing with an extremely stressful, personal situation that I can’t mention yet, if ever. But yeah, it has left me feeling really negative and moping around the past few days. I can’t wait until it is finally all done and over with, which would be in a very long time.

What have you guys been up to in the past few days? I want to know!

Whatever the stressful personal situation is, there’s plenty of awesome in there to counterbalance it. Yay! Plus., all things pass (if that helps at all) so it’s only temporary. Have a great time in San Fran!

How exciting!!! I hope you have the time of your life when you meet your friend face to face and rule ALA! I’m not going to pry about what’s going on, because that’s your business not mine. But just remember that you can only grow from what has taken place. This won’t be the last down you’ll experience in your life. Life would be boring if we all lived in utopia without any imperfections or setbacks. Keep looking forward, Kelly :)

    YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS. *PUMPS FIST*

We should’ve really planned in advance, but hey, the good thing is YOU’RE COMING TO SEE MEEEEEE. Lol, you’ll be disappointed by my bookshelf. It’s not that great. (I’d be embarrassed if you wore that t-shirt. I’M NOT THE TOURIST. That should be my t-shirt. ;D)

Dude, you’ll have a week off from that stressful situation when you get over here! We will have fun, and I will cry from the pain of my tired feet.

I love Masterchef but honestly I think it’s hilarious you watch Masterchef Canada because I absolutely despise it. Mostly I just feel like the judges have no chemistry and Alvin Leung is sooo annoying to watch so I never got into it although I did meet Eric, the season 1 winner if you remember him. But anyway congrats on your job and have fun at ALA! I’m so sorry to hear about the stress but hang in there and hopefully it eases up / gets better!

I really hope that you will be able to pull through this stressful situation soon and manage to get through them. Because those things are honestly never fun :/ But at the same time, congrats and yay for the summer job. I am sure you are gonna love it and I am looking forward to the Manhattan-fueled book hauls that will be coming in the future. It’s so cool when you get to meet other book bloggers.
