Effortlessly Reading Is Finally THREE, Why I’ve Been MIA, + A MASSIVE Giveaway

secblogoversary

Guess what guys?

birthday

Well, not really. It’s Effortlessly Reading’s birthday.

I can’t believe that Effortlessly Reading is now THREE. It’s unbelievable to believe that I’ve been blogging for three long years, that I’ve been flailing over books for three years. That’s more than 1,095 days, 26,280 hours, 1,576,800 million minutes, and 94,608,000 seconds of blogging. (I really hope my math is correct.)

I’m amazed how much I’ve accomplished in these three years. Here is just a glimpse of my blog stats as of my September 27, 2015:

  • 840 Blog Posts
  • 317 Book Reviews
  • 4,734 Bloglovin’ Followers
  • 1,105 Email Followers
  • 3,427 Twitter Followers
  • 2,562 Facebook Likes
  • 422,396 Total Page Views (only counts for 1.5 years of blogging because of my switch from using Blogger to WordPress)

It’s AMAZING to see how much my stats have grown compared to last year’s blogoversary. All that growth even though I took two long hiatuses this year (and am sort of taking one now)! All my social media has an average growth of one thousand, which just STUNS me because I don’t use them that much. I’m extremely thankful and flabbergasted that you guys actually read and follow my words – thank you, thank you, thank you.

A HUGE thank you goes to Cee from The Novel Hermit who I finally, finally, FINALLY met face to face this year, Jon from Bookish Antics who I can’t believe goes to the same college as I currently do now, Kristen from My Friends Are Fiction for being the sweetest and kindest person ever, Crystal from Bookiemoji for sharing my taste in books, Nikki from Fiction Freak for being my ALLCAPSANDNOSPACEEVERYDAY buddy (come to NYC again please!), Alyssa from Eater of Books for the how are yous and UGH school talks, Sajda from Across the Words, Nori from ReadWriteLove28, and Danielle – it was awesome hanging out with you at BEA and we need to do it again! Thank you to everyone else I somehow forgot to mention (I’m so sorry but I like you too, I promise!) and thank you to my readers for sticking with me through the thick and thin. Thank you guys for making this year super special! <3 Now on the second part of this post - as you've probably noticed, I've been posting a lot less recently. Well, I've got many explanations, I promise.

I’m taking the GMAT in November!

For those of you who don’t know what the GMAT is, the GMAT is a nationwide exam that graduate schools look at to get into their business schools. It tests mathematics that I learned in eighth grade until the end of high school, aka it’s time for me to do some massive cramming and studying and English. I’ll be taking the GMAT in early November so until then, it’s 24/7 studying for me and no reading. I haven’t read a single book in TWO long months, unless my textbook counts.

I’ve been interning!

I’ve mentioned that I’ve been working during the summer and good news! The firm where I was working at during the summer decided to continue to hire me part time! Yipeeeeeee!

School has started again!

School had started again back at the end of August and since it’s my senior year, I’ve been ultra busy maintaining my grades. Add the fact that I have two extremely hard professors – one assigned fifteen homework questions that took me EIGHT HOURS to finish – and my time is pretty much limited. Not to mention I also have night classes and evening classes as those are the only times the classes that I need to take are offered and I barely have any time for myself.

But enough about me and what I’ve been up to! To celebrate my third blogoversary, I have a MASSIVE giveaway for you all!

thegiveaway

So when I say I have a massive giveaway for you guys, I mean I HAVE A MASSIVE GIVEAWAY FOR YOU GUYS. Basically, I’ve been clearing my shelves and have gathered more than fifty books that I want to donate/sell/give away. What better way to get rid of some of the books than give them away? Also, all these books are in BRAND NEW condition because I just can’t stand hurting my books.

I haven’t had the time to take a picture of all the books – what an epic fail right? – but I will list some books I’ll be giving away and update you guys with a picture later today!

PLEASE NOTE, THIS IS NOT THE FULL LIST OF BOOKS YOU CAN WIN.

Winger by Andrew Smith (hardcover)
100 Sideways Miles by Andrew Smith (hardcover)
The Creeping by Alexandra Sirowy (ARC)

HAPPY BLOGOVERSARY, KELLY!!! 3 year bloggers are AWESOME. But I’m biased, because I’m one of them. ;) Or I will be, in less than 2 months. Congrats! And here’s to many more years to come. :)

Life has given me a lot of broken trusts and enemies lately — it’s been stressful, add that to the stress of college!

Anyway, I’m looking forward to winning 100 Sideways Miles and the DOSAB Trilogy!

Thanks for the wonderful opportunity, Kelly! :)

Happy blogoversary! Three years is awesome. If you can, avoid becoming an adult. I feel like all my life has consisted of lately is work and paying bills.
The books I think I’d like off the list if I win are the Huntley Fitzpatrick books, Lady Thief by A.C. Gaughen, and Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor. I have DoSaB series, but I need the first one in hardcover so they all match.
Anyway, thanks for such an awesome giveaway!

Hint: One chapter in a textbook is more than SIXTY PAGES. Therefore, one exam based on six chapters means more than three hundred and sixty pages of reading material. Yeah. […]
