Waiting On Wednesday [15]

WAITING ON WEDNESDAY is a weekly event, hosted at Breaking The Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating.

This week, I can’t wait for a book that has an ordinary girl, a teenage movie star, a bunch of emails, and maybe, just maybe, love.

This Is What Happy Looks Like
Author: Jennifer E. Smith
Series: None
Genre: Young Adult, Contemporary, Romance
Publisher: Poppy
Release Date: April 2
Summary:

If fate sent you an email, would you answer?
When teenage movie star Graham Larkin accidentally sends small town girl Ellie O’Neill an email about his pet pig, the two seventeen-year-olds strike up a witty and unforgettable correspondence, discussing everything under the sun, except for their names or backgrounds.
Then Graham finds out that Ellie’s Maine hometown is the perfect location for his latest film, and he decides to take their relationship from online to in-person. But can a star as famous as Graham really start a relationship with an ordinary girl like Ellie? And why does Ellie want to avoid the media’s spotlight at all costs?

I have read Jennifer E. Smith’s other book, The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight and thought it was an okay read, but not exactly memorable. I wasn’t sure if I would read her other books – until I heard about This Is What Happy Looks Like. (Have you noticed that her book titles are just plain awesome?)

We all admire movie stars. We all wish that they’ll somehow end up on our front door (yes, Reid [from Criminal Minds], I’m talking about you) and declare their ever-lasting love for us. Okay, fine, not ever-lasting love, but at least ask us ordinary people out. What happens if one of us got to email them? What happens if we -gasps and whispers- have a chance to date them?

So you see guys, do you see why I can’t wait to read This Is What Happy Looks Like?

What book are you looking forward to reading this week?
