Every bookish blog I visit has their own form of discussion feature while I’m sitting here alone, thinking, hmm, what can I do to make my blog more exciting and unique? So I decided, why not start my own feature where I can talk about random bookish topics? And so, Let’s Speculate was created.
The topic I chose for this week is How Do You Deal With Reading Slumps? Every once in a while, I get into reading slumps. Reading slumps is probably the worse thing of being a book blogger. No reading equals no reviews equals no new material on your blog. So how do I get over reading slumps? Well, I have this list to help.
1. I watch television, namely Criminal Minds.
I hardly watch television since books are a much better company. However, when I’m in a reading slump, I catch up on Criminal Minds. It’s so addicting.
2. Try reading a new book.
Maybe you’ve read three books that you didn’t really like in a row lately. Don’t give up on a book yet, find one that looks extremely promising and read it!
3. Do your homework.
Nothing bores me more than homework. When I’m all done, I’ll be really grateful to get to read a book again.
4. Find and stalk new blogs.
This is almost what I always do when I’m in a reading slump. This way I meet new people and discover new awesome blogs to stalk. What else could be better than that?
5. Go book shopping.
Step into Barnes & Noble. There, you’ll find new books you want to read, see some gorgeous covers, and step out completely broke.
How do you get rid of your reading slumps?
