Stacking the Shelves [31]

Stacking The Shelves, hosted by Tynga’s Reviews, is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks!

Tons of books from my mailbox this week!

Bought:
Let the Sky Fall (Let the Sky Fall #1) by Shannon Messenger
Towering by Alex Flinn

IMG_0005Barnes and Noble decided to be nice to me this week and sent me a free 15% off coupon. I had to buy Let the Sky Fall with that, despite the fact that I’ve never read the book yet.
As for Towering, I spied it on the shelf in Strandbooks and snagged it asap. It’s in new condition, is released on Tuesday, and 50% off. What could be better than that?

Borrowed:
The Eternity Cure (Blood of Eden #2) by Julie Kagawa

IMG_0008I’ve read The Immortal Rules a year ago and absolutely loved it. I can’t wait to start The Eternity Cure!

In My Mailbox:
Parallel by Lauren Miller
Of Triton (Of Poseidon #2) by Anna Banks
Rememberance (Transcent Time Saga #1) by Michelle Madow
The Goddess Test (Goddess Test #1) by Aimee Carter
Goddess Interrupted (Goddess Test #2) by Aimee Carter
Once (Eve #2) by Anna Carey
Eve (Eve #1) by Anna Carey
Spell Bound (Hex Hall #3) by Rachel Hawkins

IMG_0002
I was lucky enough to win an ARC of Parallel during Epic Reads’ Tea Time. I’ll have to squeeze that book into my reading schedule.
I won a signed copy of Remembrance from Sara @ Ramblings of a Book Nerd. Thanks Sara!
As for the rest of the books, I got them all from trading using YA Book Exchange.

That’s all for this week! What books did you guys get?

I can’t wait to start Let the Sky Fall and you should definitely read The Immortal Rules asap. It’s probably the best YA vampire book that I’ve ever read. ;D

Nice haul! I really loved The Eternity Cure (read an ARC of it a while back) and thought it was much better The Immortal Rules :) Let the Sky Fall wasn’t bad either.

I’ve tried to read Beastly before, but it wasn’t really the book for me. I bought Towering because the cover was stunning.
And definitely check out the YA Book Exchange! (:

Awesome haul! I’ve been wanting Let the Sky Fall for a while now! And I need to get myself a hardcover of The Eternity Cure to match (well, not exactly match because of the cover change) my Immortal Rules copy. But that’ll have to wait until after the move *sigh*
I swear to you if I ever make it to NYC I will hunt that Strand bookstore down and leave it like a dozen books heavier!! 50% off?!
Enjoy all your new books :)

Aww, if I was you Carmen, I would buy books anyway and suffer lately.
Well, the bright side of waiting is when you FINALLY get to buy books, you get to watch the salesperson’s eyes pop up when you drag all the books you’re going to buy up to the register. :D
I always leave Strandbooks with 3-6 books, but it’s worth it. 95% of the store is 50% off. It’s like a book lover’s dream come true.

    New follower!

Let the Sky Fall was just an okay book for me….I thought the villains were kind of flat and the pacing was off. But hopefully you like it! Towering looks awesome, too. I loved Beastly and A Kiss In Time by Alex Flinn (though I disliked Cloaked).

Aww, pacing of the book is very crucial for me. When things in the book slow down, I usually notch down the rating. Hopefully I’ll enjoy Let the Sky Fall though.
I only read Alex Flinn’s Beastly and sadly wasn’t at all impressed. The writing wasn’t good and the worst part was, pages in the book were switched around/cut out/who knows what happened. Hopefully Towering would be better.

I hope you enjoy your books! :)
