Judge A Book By Its Signature: Hemlock – Kathleen Peacock

judgeabook

I don’t know about you, but my signature is downright ugly. And lame. Let’s not forget lame. Every time I sign my name on something, whether it be a receipt or a new credit card, I wince inside. I don’t know how people come up with such awesome pretty signatures. I’m totally out of the loop with that.

One day, after getting multiple books signed, I thought what if instead of judging a book by its cover, you judge the book by the author’s signature? Will the author’s signature attract you to the book? Will you still buy the book then?

This week, I’m featuring Hemlock by Kathleen Peacock.

cover

I actually love the cover of Hemlock. I love the flower/thorn vines on the upper part of the cover near the title. It makes the cover a little more unique. I also like the colors used, plus the girl’s pose that implies that she’s lonely.

Not really. Sure, the cover of Hemlock is really pretty, but I feel like there are even other prettier covers out there.

signature

I love Kathleen Peacock’s signature! You would have thought that with a name as long as hers, her signature would be long too, but it’s short. Like Anna Banks’ signature, Kathleen Peacock writes down the initials of her name, then signs the rest of her last name. I also love the way Kathleen Peacock writes her “K;” it’s a lot better looking than the way I write my “K.”

Hmm, I’ll have to say yes on this one.

Will you buy Hemlock based on the author’s signature alone?

Kathleen Peacock’s signature looks like a star to me. That is pretty awesome. I wouldn’t buy the book though, only because if I’m not interested in the synopsis, then no thank you.

Ha ha, now that you mention it, her signature does indeed look like a star. :P
And too bad I’m not like that. I’m like OHHH PRETTY COVER! -buys without a second of hesitation-

I would have to say yes on this one too! I think her signature is really cool. Even though I own this book, I don’t think I bought it because of the cover. It’s not my favorite even though it’s pretty. I just get distracted by the model’s hair that kind of looks like a wig.

I want her signature! If only my name was Kathleen Peacock too. D:
Now that you’ve mentioned it, yeah, the cover model’s hair does look weird. -stares- It looks so fake and stiff.

Yesss! I haven’t read this one yet, but I really want to. I love the cover too, and I think the signature is really nice. My signature sucks. It’s like a scribble gone wrong. :P
