I bet some of you are wondering why Judge A Book By Its Signature is happening today instead of Monday like it was ever since I created Judge A Book By Its Signature and the short answer is that I have something special planned for you guys tomorrow. ;D
Anyways, first thing’s first: Jessi from Novel Heartbeat is amazing. Read on to find out why.
So how Judge A Book By Its Signature was invented is this: I don’t know about you, but my signature is downright ugly. And lame. Let’s not forget lame. Every time I sign my name on something, whether it be a receipt or a new credit card, I wince inside. I don’t know how people come up with such awesome pretty signatures. I’m totally out of the loop with that.
One day, after getting multiple books signed, I thought what if instead of judging a book by its cover, you judge the book by the author’s signature? Will the author’s signature attract you to the book? Will you still buy the book then?
This week, I’m featuring a lot of books, even more than my first special edition of Judge A Book By Its Signature.
Let me explain.
Jessi and I were talking on Twitter and I was gushing all over the amazing Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins (you would too when you read it) when Jessi mentioned that she was planning on taking a trip to YALLFest and offered to get two Stephanie Perkins books signed for me. (I think I was screaming in happiness by that point.) One thing lead to another and Jessi offered to get books by authors I loved signed for me. See how awesome and amazing Jessi is? (If you’re reading this Jessi, I can’t wait to meet up with you, hopefully at BEA, and give you a huge hug! :D<3) Without further ado, here are all the beautiful signed books:
Let’s start with Veronica Rossi’s book, Under the Never Sky.
Now for Stephanie Perkin’s (aka one of my favorite authors ever) books: Anna and the French Kiss and Lola and the Boy Next Door.
Next it’s time for Rae Carson’s books, The Girl of Fire and Thorns, The Crown of Embers, and The Bitter Kingdom.
Last, but not least: Victoria Schwab’s Vicious.
And that’s all the books Jessi got signed for me at YALLFest! Thank you so much Jessi; it must have taken A LONG time to wait on the author lines and it must have very heavy to carry seven extra books too. Again, thank you so much! <3
Will you buy any of these books based on the author's signature alone? What do you think of them all?
I like how different Schwab’s signature looks. I think my favorite one is the one from Veronica :)

I like the Under the Never Sky cover too! I like that she looks like she’s emerging from the lights.
Forever jealous that you got your Stephanie Perkins’s books signed. I don’t like the hardcover designs very much but I wish there was a similar one for the third copy. I like for it to all match.
I LOVE LOVE LOOOOOVVVEEE THE COVER OF VICIOUS (so I’m majorly sideeying you rn for not liking it). I love the level of detail the artist put into the cover. On twitter, Victoria Schwab explained her signatures. The VE is included in Schwab. (Apparently, she never signs books with “Victoria Schwab.”)

I really like Stephanie Perkins’s signature! Ugh, my signature sucks man. When I am bored in class, I come up with tons of signatures, but I end up not liking them all. Hmm, I don’t really judge books based on signatures, but if I see a signed copy in a store like Target, I automatically buy that book just because it’s signed, even if the signature’s ugly.

Yay for cool signatures! I haven’t read any of these books, but Stephanie Perkin’s are high on my want-to-read-desperately-list. :)
Dawww, we WILL meet at BEA! It’s going to happen! (And we can totally tackle hug each other!)
I love Veronica Rossi’s signature, it’s so pretty and she has awesome handwriting! Rae and Victoria’s, not so much haha. Stephanie’s is nice and loopy, but I’m kind of on the fence about hers. I hope I love Anna as much as you did! *crosses fingers*
And it was my pleasure. It wasn’t too bad to wait in line with more books, I already had a whole suitcase anyway! The only line that I wouldn’t have been in already was Rae’s, and it didn’t take too terribly long. :)

I really loved this post. Unfortunately since I live in Scotland and very few of my favourite authors ever come here I only have 2 signed books so I am completely and utterly envious of your collection!
