I don’t know about you, but my signature is downright ugly. And lame. Let’s not forget lame. Every time I sign my name on something, whether it be a receipt or a new credit card, I wince inside. I don’t know how people come up with such awesome pretty signatures. I’m totally out of the loop with that.
One day, after getting multiple books signed, I thought what if instead of judging a book by its cover, you judge the book by the author’s signature? Will the author’s signature attract you to the book? Will you still buy the book then?
This week, I’m featuring The Moon and More and This Lullaby by Sarah Dessen.
Will you buy The Moon and More and This Lullaby based on the author’s signature alone?
Ahh I’ve only read one Sarah Dessen book and liked it so I may choose to read this one soon because it sounds really good. I also think the signature is definitely messy but it’s still so cute at the same time. Thanks for sharing, Kelly! <33

I’m guessing Sarah Dessen also has problems with signatures! It looks as if she has come up with a quick and easy way to get it down on paper which I’m sure comes in handy at signings. But truthfully, seeing her signature is a bit disappointing, as if she couldn’t take the time to write even her first name. And only a line for the last name! If I were to receive a signed copy of one of her books I would be quite disappointed by it. For the sake of this post, I would not choose one of her books based off of her signature (but I would truthfully never judge a book by it’s author’s signature in real life.)

this is such an interesting topic! I remember I bought one signed book and the signature was super small! so if I were to judge the book based on the signature alone, I probably wouldn’t have bought it because it doesn’t scream “EXCITEMENT” you know? (:

Both the cover and the signature don’t WOW me enough to buy them. The ‘S’ is not bad, but I don’t like the fact that I wouldn’t recognize her name outside the book.

I have her signature and it looked like Stacee to me, without the t. LOL. For me, it looks intresting and fun, but it doesn’t make sense. LOL.

That signature is weird looking haha. It doesn’t even show “Sarah” it’s like “Saaaa…” haha. I have never read any of her books, but it would be great to do so since I heard she writes amazing contemporary books.
