Judge A Book By Its Signature: Taken – Erin Bowman

judgeabook

I don’t know about you, but my signature is downright ugly. And lame. Let’s not forget lame. Every time I sign my name on something, whether it be a receipt or a new credit card, I wince inside. I don’t know how people come up with such awesome pretty signatures. I’m totally out of the loop with that.

One day, after getting multiple books signed, I thought what if instead of judging a book by its cover, you judge the book by the author’s signature? Will the author’s signature attract you to the book? Will you still buy the book then?

This week, I’m featuring Taken by Erin Bowman.

cover

I love the cover of Taken. I bet you love it too. I mean, how could you not? I wouldn’t have thought the colors orange, blue, and yellow would ever go well together, but the cover of Taken proved me wrong. I also love the tree design added on the top of the cover.

Definitely.

signature

I love Erin Bowman’s signature! I love her loopy “E” – it brings mine to shame. Her “B” is a lot fancier than mine too and I especially love the way she ended her signature with that curving downwards line.

85% yes.

Do you like the cover of Taken? Do you like the author’s signature?

Oh yes, the cover is pretty. I like the color palette. Her signature puts mine to shame. It’s so curly and fancy :D

I love the cover as well! And her signature! I’ve always wanted a really cool curly and bouncy signature but also one that isn’t too complex and Erin’s signature fits the bill for that perfectly!

I love the cover for TAKEN – it’s creative, but also suits the story. Adore her signature, too!

    Awesome post :)

Like you, I’m somewhere most likely to saying yes, but there’s something missing for her signature to be amazing. I like how she does her E, though.

I love the colors on the cover but not the picture itself so I’m not sure if I would buy it based on the cover. I like the signature but not enough to want to buy it too.
