Life Of A Blogger: Bad Habits

lifeofablogger

Life Of A Blogger is hosted by the fabulous Jessi from Novel Heartbeat where we let people know more about our lives outside of blogging so they can get to know us better!

Oh goodness. I have a lot of bad habits. Like, A LOTTTTTT.

1. I spend way too much time on the Internet. I’m supposed to be reading right now, but instead, I’m browsing the Internet and also typing up this post at this very moment. Hopefully I’ll stop using the Internet for today soon.

2. I have long nails most of the time because I’m too lazy to cut them. They are not scary or creepy long, but they are long nevertheless.

3. I eat a lot of junk food. Like, junk food is life. I love eating chips, chocolate, fried chicken, friend shrimp, gummy worms, you name it. It’s really surprising that I only had a single cavity in my life with all the junk food I eat. I really do have to stop eating junk food already.

4. I slouch. I just don’t sit straight unless I think about it or when someone makes a remark on this particular bad habit.

5. I am paranoid and pessimistic. I just can’t help it; whenever something happens, I think of everything bad that can ever happen and panic about it.

6. I have a short term attention span. I could be listening to something the professor is saying in class and my mind just wanders. Or I’ll be listening to my friends talk and my mind just wanders.

What are some of your bad habits? I want to know!

Speak Your Mind

#1 and 3 are problems for me. I’ll be sitting on the couch watching tv, and I just watch it live when I can so I can read during the commercials. But instead I’ll find myself playing on my iphone instead of reading during commercials. I eat a lot of junk food, part of that is because I don’t really like healthy stuff, like fruits and veggies. But I’m trying to drink more water and less soda when I think about it. Fun post!

4 & 6 haha me too :) no matter how much I try not to slouch or to focus on what the professor is saying I just can’t. And also the internet. I have 3 exams next week and I’m supposed to be studying right now but here I am :D

Oh man. Those are all me. I’m so full of bad habits, I should really work on that…. I guess one of my bad habits is how I never stick with my TBR. 95% of the time I will just read whatever catches my eye in the moment. A lot of it has to do with how I was post-college though. After all those years of doing required reading and never having enough time for what I wanted to read, it led me to only reading what I wanted.

In the end I justify this habit by saying, why can’t I read what I want? Sure, I might want to read a certain book for my blog, but blogging is not my job and I’m supposedly doing it for fun. That doesn’t stop me from feeling a smidge guilty though. Haha.

I slouch too and I walk with my shoulders bend forwards. I really have to remind myself to walk like a normal person, haha. And it’s very easy to fall into this ‘EVERYTHING WILL GO WRONG’ state. Fast-food is so yummy, especially chocolate.

1, 3, and 4. Yeah, me too (and here I am of course). I really need to work on these, but it’s definitely easier said than done. I don’t know what I would do without chocolate – don’t leave me, I need you raspberry chocolate truffles!

I have a swearing problem. Like it’s actually so bad. I contain myself [usually] but if I don’t, the things that come out are kind of embarrassing. Like, i never use it TO a person offensively or call people bad names, but the words come out when I’m frustrated, annoyed or scared. I’ve been caught by teachers too many times to count but never really gotten in trouble [because i don’t use it offensively]

I have a habit of picking at my fingers. It’s like a nervous reaction and it makes my fingers look so bad and really ugly. People can usually tell my stress level just by watching me fidget.

And yes, I totally agree with the internet one, tbh

I share every single one of your bad habits except for #2, which is also a bad habit, because I tend to tear my nails off when I’m nervous. I should be doing something productive, instead I’m playing Candy Crush (this was very bad during NaNoWriMo). I should be eating healthy, but popping a pizza in the oven is so much easier (another bad habit: lazy). I should be seizing the day, instead I’m kind of waiting for the day to pass until I can go back to bed… it’s actually quite bad!

Oh, I’ve got all those habits. Well … I’ve managed to curb #3 and I prefer long nails … but the rest: me. Classic me.

Ugh, too much time on the Internet is my problem too! I just keep surfing and surfing instead of reading . . . like right now! Ha

Well, #1 for sure. I WISH I could have long nails, but mine tend to crease and bend and tear. You can train yourself out of #6- I’ve been doing that. We get so caught up in multitasking, it becomes default to have a short, half-attention span for everything. But now I focus solely on one thing (no matter how nuts it drives me, at first, to do) and I can see my attention span doing better.

My biggest bad habit is biting off more than I can chew. I expect to be able to do about 80 things each day, and then am disappointed with myself when I only do 10. Or 1. It’s a pretty annoying way to approach the day. :(

Too much time on the internet! I think I forgot to include that one. I’ll be all, “I’m going to finish this book today!” and then I get distracted by my blog, or twitter, or something else, and I don’t finish it. *sighs*
I’m bad about cutting my nails, too. I like them long, though! But mine are very brittle and tend to break and chip, so they’re always all different lengths and I’m too lazy to fix them.
Mmm, junk food. *nods* This is definitely a downfall of mine, one that I’m working on this year!
I’m pessimistic too, and I also have a short attention span!
